ANNOTATIONS
PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS
1) We have received a petition requesting that Peltier Lake
Drive be disconnected at Centerville Road into a cul de sac.
I will request comments from the Police and Fire Chief.
APPEARANCES
1) Curtis Coffman and Brad Hanggi will be present to discuss the
possibility of moving the trail easement to the south of
their homes on some undeveloped lots. In my opinion this
only shifts this issue to someone else. There would be
expenses incurred in redrafting and recording easements in
both the Clearwater Meadows and Eagle Pass developments.
2) Ken Sorenson will be present to request a noise permit for
another fund raiser benefit for flood relief. I would
recommend denying this permit due to failure to perform on
requirements associated with the Summer Jam event and due to
the conflicting timing with the City Celebration.
OLD BUSINESS
1) Garbage Contract - Please bring your copy of the proposed
garbage contract with you to the meeting. If you do not have
a copy contact City Hall. I would like to finalize this
document so we can send this out for proposals. I would like
to award the contract on July 23. The current contract
expires on August 8, 1997. I received a 30 day extension
until September 8, 1997 from United Waste. They are more
than willing to extend the contract to whatever time period
we need. I had Troy survey some of the other licensed
haulers in the County to discuss their ability to service our
accounts in a timely fashion if they would be awarded the
contract. It does not seem to be an issue with most haulers.
My initial concern was that we would eliminate potential
bidders if we had too short of a time period from when the
current contract would end and when the new contract would
commence. This is why I requested the 30 day extension. I
can discuss this in more detail at the Council meeting.
2) Lakeland Hills - The City Engineer should have copies of the
final plans and we should have a Final Plat by next week
Monday. I indicated that we would be assembling packets
earlier than normal this week, but we could deliver the
additional material to Councilmembers on Monday.
NEW BUSINESS
1) Light Industrial District - The Planning and Zoning
Commission has held a public hearing to consider the
establishment of a new light industrial zoning district. I
am checking on the intricacies of how this would be
established during the interim while our comprehensive plan
is being reviewed. I should have answers for Wednesday.
2) City Pin - Attached is a price list for ordering City pins.
I think this would be a worthwhile expenditure. I will see
if I can get another quote prior to Wednesday. I will bring
the pin samples to the meeting.

The undersigned request that Peltier Lake Drive be terminated at roughly address 1689 Peltier
Lake Drive. Currently at this point, Peltier Lake Drive has 2 sharp 90 degree turns and continues
through to Mill Road, If the road is going to be rebuilt, this change could be implemented and
save the cost of some roadway.
The advantage of a terminating Peltier Lake Drive is that traffic would be reduced, extending the
life of the road and providing a more desirable residential setting. The two houses on the comers
would gain more yard space. A sidewalk could provide continuity for foot and bicycle traffic.
Fire and police would have to be aware of the change. However, if necessary, an ermergency
vehicle could jump the curb if it were absolutely necessary to pass through. Cul -de -sacs and
deadend roads are already common in Centerville and fire and police have to be aware proper
routes anyway. Most newly designed residential areas all over the state include deadends and
cul -de -sacs because they are more desirable than a checkerboard grid of through streets.

A couple year ago, we had talked about the idea of having
a Centerville Logo pin. I talked with the same firm that
does our business cards at that time. He had sent out some
different products at that time. We (1) sort of let the project
die by the wayside.
I think we should revisit the idea again. Here are the prices
for having a pin made one (1) inch by five- eight's (5/8)
inch in size. The pin would be rectangular, 3 colors, screen
with an epoxy finish:
100 -- $2.60 each
250 -- $2.44 each
500 -- $2.33 each
There would also be a one time setup fee of $82.00. I think
it would be a nice item to sell or give away to special
people and city officials could buy some and give out if
they wanted too.
I think it would be a good promotion tool for the City and
maybe would also help "Espirit de Corps ". I would like to
vote on it tonight and maybe have for the Festival of the
Lacs.?
