Problem is standing water.
Standing water each Spring, Summer and Fall.
If it rains the rain water does not go down for 7 days to weeks.
Nesting Mosquitoes, laying eggs, are a problem.
Plants die do to standing water.
Kids cant go in back yard do to poor drainage.
My neighbor Dale at 7008 Centerville Rd said he cannot cut his grass their because he said he is afraid of
getting stuck on his ridding lawn mower.
The water can get to 3-4 inches deep.
The Cause.
The Cause of the Rain water is from the Chauncey Barett Gardens Building roof and surrounding yards.
The roof on the Chauncey Barett Gardens Building is huge with much run off and not all goes to the culvert
resulting in very large amounts of water displaced in my back yard.
When the building was first built the drainage was much better and water would flow to the drain culvert.
After a few years the building put down Round Up to kill all vegetation. After that they put down a weed
barrier with rock on top. The result was that water cannot drain to the drain culvert. No swale or drain
culvert was put in place.
Suggested solution.
A swale could be put in.
A drain tile could be put in.
The drain culvert is much lower than the land around it so it should not be hard to fix.
The rain water would then go into the Nurp or holding pond.
