The City Council of Centerville, Minnesota met in a special session on Thursday,
September 4, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall. Present were Mayor Tom Wilharber,
Council members Steve King, Ben Fehrenbacher, D. Love and Jeff Paar. Also present
were Administrator Dallas Larson and recruitment consultant Richard Fursman. The
purpose of the meeting was to review job applicants for the City Administrator Position.
Mr. Fursman reviewed the highlights of the qualifications of the ten applicants that he
suggested that Council consider for interviews. He recommended that Council interview
five or six candidates. After considerable discussion and questioning of the consultant,
Council ranked the candidates and by consensus agreed on five that will be interviewed.
The interviews will be a three step process beginning on September 12. Candidates will
have one-on-one meetings with council followed by dinner as a large group. Then on
September 13, the candidates will be interviewed by Council and a separate staff panel.
The staff panel will present their findings, after which, Council will select a candidate to
offer the position to. The entire process should conclude by about 3:00 on September 13.
The meeting was duly adjourned at 8:17 p.m.
