Wednesday, August 2, 2017—6:30 p.m.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Parks & Recreation Committee of the City of
Centerville held a scheduled meeting on August 2, 2017 at the City Hall location.
Present: Vice Chairperson Kevin Amundsen
Committee Member Brian Peterson
Committee Member Suzanne Seeley
Committee Member Heidi Grahek
Committee Member Chris Bettinger (Arrived @ 7:35 p.m.)
Also Present: Council Member, Matt Montain

I. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairperson Amundsen called the August 2, 2017 meeting of the Parks &
Recreation Committee to order at 6:39 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Vice Chairperson Amundsen offered an opportunity to Committee members to modify
the agenda.
Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Seeley to
Approve the Agenda as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Parks & Recreation Committee Minutes of June 7, 2017
Vice Chairperson Amundsen provided members with an opportunity to review/amend
the submitted minutes.
Motion by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member Grahek to
Approve the Minutes of June 7, 2017 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried.
III. APPOINTMENTS/PRESENTATIONS
1. Ms. Kerri Kolstad—WaHoo! Adventures

Ms. Kerri Kolstad stated that the run was a success with 46, 5K runners and 48, 8K
runners. She stated that a great time was had by all.
2. Tom Lee—Music in the Park& Park-ing Lot
Mr. Lee was unavailable for the meeting. The Committee briefly discussed the
possibility of not having music in the parking lot next year.
3. Mr. Pat Branch—Paddle des Lacs (No One Left Hungry)
Mr. Branch gave a brief recap of the event and stated that assist from the Bald Eagle
Water Ski Club was much appreciated and he felt the numbers were low due to it being
the first year of the event.
IV. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. GAGA Pit—Review Bids Received for Heavy Duty Steel Corner Braces
(Tabled)
The Committee tabled this item.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
1. Movie in the Park
Committee Member Peterson stated that he has been considering two different movies
"Sing" and "Boss Baby". He stated that he was aware that the City of Hugo was showing
a movie in their park and he desired to ensure there would not be a duplicate of showings.
The Committee discussed additional items to attract additional participation such as
offering raffles, trivia the sale of candy and juice boxes, etc.
The Committee discussed playing North Metro Cable TVs Fete des Lacs City
promotional video prior to the movie and Administrator Ericson would contact them.
VII. UPDATES/OTHER
1. Council Updates —Council Member Matt Montain
Council Member Montain updated the Committee on several City issues. Council Member
Montain stated that he delivered the snow making machine to the Public Works Department.
2. Review 5 Year P &R Projects List
The Committee briefly discussed the needed updates to the project list.
3. Vacancy

A vacancy remains.
VIII. ACTION ITEMS REVIEW
The Committee desires to have this updated for their next meeting.
IX. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Bettinger to
adiourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried.
