Additionally, through the grant that was provided by Rice Creek Watershed District(RCWD) for the Trailside Park shoreline project, we are obligated to install some new signs there as well. The committee should discuss options for sign replacement. Staff is working on obtaining costs and is in discussions with RCWD on artwork for the signs. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: Park Maintenance (for Hidden Spring Park signs); Sewer Fund (for Trailside Park signs) REQUESTED ACTION: If costs are available at the time of the meeting, we request a motion to recommend approval for replacement of the signs. "151 r' r r , S '� ✓ r I ! i, Al /✓ r s iff CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COMMITTEE ACTION o; Agenda Item# Department: Requested Meeting Date: Parks 8/1/2018 TITLE OF ISSUE: Long Term Capital Improvement Plan BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Attached is a draft long term capital improvement plan for the city's parks and trails system. The plan only includes things which could be categorized as "capital improvements", representing items that enhance or expand the current parks and trails system. Replacement, maintenance and programmatic items are not on the list; these are funded through the general levy. Improvements listed make up all facilities planned when the city is fully developed. Park dedication fees are calculated by dividing the total cost of improvements by the number of expected new homes at full build-out and may only be used to build things on this list. Over the next few months, we will ask the Parks and Recreation Committee to review this list and recommend changes, additions, subtractions, or shifting of projects' expected implementation dates. Once fully vetted and adopted, we will want to revisit this document on a regular basis to keep it up to date. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: Park Dedication Fund- No immediate cost REQUESTED ACTION: Review and discuss the draft plan. No formal action is being requested at this time.
