PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, September 5, 2018
6:30 p.m.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville's Parks & Recreation Committee
held a scheduled meeting on September 5, 2018 at City Hall, 1800 Main Street.
Present: Chairperson Kevin Waeghe
Committee Member Kevin Amundsen
Committee Member Chris Bettinger Q
Committee Member Heidi Erickkson-Grahek
Committee Member Brian Peterson
Committee Member Suzanne Seeley
Also Present: Mark Statz, City Administrator/Engineer
Linda Neudecker, Recorder
Absent: Matt Montain, Council Member Liaison
Paul Palzer, Public Works
I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Waeghe called the September 5, 2018 Meeting of the Parks & Recreation
Committee to order at 6:34 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. Results of the roll call
are shown above.
II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Added item 3, under New Business —2019 Fete des Lacs (logo & 5K/8K runs)
Added item 4, under New Business —Request for Rocket Launch (October, 2018)
Motion by Committee Member Wae2he, seconded by Committee Member
Amundsen to approve the Agenda as Amended. All in favor. Motion carried.
III. APPEARANCES/APPOINTMENTS/PRESENTATIONS
1. Mr. Pat Branch appeared before the P & R Committee regarding some ideas for the
2019 events. There are four major suggestions/proposals presented for consideration.
a. A Logo Contest which would be open to students in the school district. A theme
for the 2019 Fete des Lacs would be needed before this contest would begin.
