V.2
TITLE OF ISSUE:
Acorn Creek Park Parking
BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
Previously, the committee approved a rough draft of the design for parking spaces to be constructed at Acorn
Creek Park, in conjunction with the Old Mill Estates Development. A formal drawing of those improvements
has now been prepared. The commission should review the drawings and offer any comments.
The committee may also wish to consider the installation of a drinking fountain at the same time as these
improvements. A water service stub already exists and will need to be extended to get behind the parking and
trail area. This may, therefore be an appropriate time to add the water fountain, if one was desired.
COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING:
Previously approved up to $22,000 for parking. Drinking fountain not included in that price - TBD.
REQUESTED ACTION:
Motion to recommend approval (w/comments, if any) design of parking and trail layout in Acorn Creek Park.
Motion to recommend installation of drinking water fountain in Acorn Creek Park.

to do so formally.
COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING:

REQUESTED ACTION:

VI.2
TITLE OF ISSUE:
Accessibility Audit
BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
City staff has completed an Accessibility Audit of city parks facilities and will be on hand at the meeting to
review their findings.
Staff has solicited quotes to pave some access paths needed to mitigate the accessibility issues.
The Committee should engage in a discussion with staff regarding the audit and review the quotes to correct the
noted issues. If the Committee finds that it wishes to move forward with the improvements, it would be
appropriate to recommend award of the bid to the contractor with the lowest quote.
COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING:
$10,584 - Street/Trail Fund
REQUESTED ACTION:
Motion to recommend approval of the Accessibility Audit.
Motion to recommend award of a contract to Muellner Asphalt for the construction of trail improvements in the
amount of $10,584.
