TITLE OF ISSUE:
Rehbein Commercial and Associated Developments - Consideration of Additional Public Meetings
BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
On April 26, 2021, the Planning and Zoning Commission held public hearings on the Rehbein Commercial
Preliminary Plat and several other zoning applications for associated site development within the plat. Our City
Attorney has advised that any further meetings at which public comment would be allowed, need to take place
with either the full City Council or full Planning Commission present. Further, these meetings would need to
be noticed to the public in the same way as the initial public hearing, meaning that there would need to be
mailed and published notice at least 10 days in advance of the hearing. With the submittal requirements and
publication schedule of the paper, the earliest a hearing could be held would be May 21 (Friday). Staff is
recommending that, if the Council wishes to have additional public meetings, where public comment is taken, it
be scheduled for Tuesday, May 25. The City Council must take action on all applications by July 7, 2021.

Consideration of Agenda Items for May 12 City Council Meeeting
BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
If the Council elects to NOT have additional Public Hearings on any or all of the various elements of the
Rehbein Commercial plat and its associated developments, staff is seeking direction on whether or not those
items should be placed on the May 12 City Council meeting agenda for further consideration. Additionally,
staff would be happy to provide any additional information on any of the developments or the development
process in the Council Packet, at the request of the Council.
