HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-12-28 EDA Minutes - Approved APPROVED CITY OF CENTERVILLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES December 28, 2022 6:30 p.m. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held a regularly scheduled Economic Development Authority meeting on December 28, 2022. WORK SESSION I. CALL TO ORDER The work session was called to order at approximately 6:00 p.m. by Vice President Remillard. II. ROLL CALL* Executive Director Lewis called the roll. PRESENT: Vice-President Mark Remillard Commissioner Steve King Commissioner Darrin Mosher Commissioner Chris Swenson Vacancy ABSENT: None STAFF: Assistant City Administrator/EDA Executive Director, Athanasia Lewis III. ITEMS OF DISCUSSION The EDA interviewed candidates for the board vacancy. IV. ADJOURNMENT The work session was adjourned at 6:58 PM by Vice-President Remillard. MEETING I. APPROVAL OF AGENDA 1. Call for Changes to the Agenda The agenda was approved as presented. Motion by Commissioner King and seconded by Commissioner Swenson to approve the agenda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes were approved as presented. Motion by Commissioner Mosher and seconded by Commissioner Swenson to approve the November 16, 2022 meeting minutes. All in favor. Motion carried. V. BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS 1. Bills Executive Director Lewis reviewed the checks as presented in the packet. a. Check List Motion by Commissioner Mosher and seconded by Commissioner King to approve the check list as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. 2. Communications a. Holiday Wreaths Executive Director Lewis provided an update on the holiday wreaths as presented in the packet. PRESENTATION None VII. REPORTS 1. Partner Agency Reports a. Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) Executive Director Lewis reviewed the report as presented in the packet. 2. Year to Date Financials Executive Director Lewis reviewed the financial report as presented in the packet. 3. Ongoing Programs: Executive Director Lewis reviewed the Ongoing Programs report as presented in the packet. 4. Administrator’s Report Executive Director Lewis reviewed the Administrator’s Report as presented in the packet. Executive Director Lewis also provided dates for upcoming open houses for Atlas Villas. VIII. OLD BUSINESS 1. EDA Vacancy Executive Director Lewis introduced this item. Motion by Commissioner Mosher, seconded by Commissioner King to authorizing staff recommend the appointment of Tony Smith to the EDA. All in favor. Motion carried. 2. Downtown Redevelopment Market Study Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet, noting that a revised estimate for one of the proposals was also submitted. Grant Martin from LOCi provided an overview of what his report on the redevelopment market study would entail, and he answered questions from the board. Page 3 of 3 City of Centerville EDA Meeting Minutes December 28, 2022 Motion by Commissioner King, seconded by Commissioner Mosher to approve a resolution authorizing staff to negotiate a contract with LOCi for the downtown redevelopment market study based on their submitted proposal. All in favor. Motion carried. IX. NEW BUSINESS None X.
