Staff has drafted a memorandum and provided a recommendation for both the purchase of adaptive equipment or amending the Capital Replacement Plan to delay Royal Meadows to 2030 and move Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park to 2025. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: $125,000 (Park Dedication Fees) or $427,000 of which $300,000 Capital Equipment & $127,000 Park Ded Fees) REQUESTED ACTION: Motion to Recommend to Council either to purchase and install the addition of the four adaptive pieces of equipment at Laurie LaMotte Park in 2025 or to obtain bids from reputable vendors to purchase and install $427,000 worth of equipment at Laurie LaMotte Park in 2025 which will offer a range of experiences for all and to amend the Park Equipment Capital Replacement Plan accordingly. Ms. Seeley was the Vice-Chairperson and with her retirement from the committee, the position should be filled. Participation in the market with vendors and visitors was larger then anticipated. At certain times there were: at least 3-4 food vendors along with 31 artisans/crafters. Attendance ranged from 800+ - 300 each week. Chairperson Errickson-Grahek, staff and Ms. Angela Conley met for a re-cap meeting and discussed dates for 2025, rescheduling the themed evenings to not overlap with neighboring community events and possible additions of events (dunk tank, etc.) All in all, it was a great season and thank you to our volunteers: Tedd Carlson, Suzanne Seeley, Heidi Errickson-Grahek and Angela Conely as this event would not have been able to happen without them. We also thank the P.W. Department for set up of tables and equipment and then removal of same. Trunk or Treat/Touch a Truck - please find the attached flier. We need volunteers.
