The letter was not read aloud in the meeting but Heather’s comment for support of the project was acknowledged. I’m forwarding this for your records. Also, Kellie’s PowerPoint for on the feasibility is in the assembly folder for last night’s meeting. Finally, I will send you another email with follow-up items. Learn why this is important Caution: This email originated outside our organization; please use caution. Dear Mayor & City Council Members … I attended the City Council meeting on January 22, 2025 and followed with interest the discussion of the solar panel installation at City Hall. I write to urge you to move forward with this project despite the sudden shift in federal policy and the withdrawal of federal grant funds. The recent presidential campaign made it clear that a change in administration was likely to lead to a reduction or cancellation of federal support for renewable energy initiatives; given this, the withdrawal of federal funding should not come as a surprise. However, the state grant funds that remain are still a significant opportunity for 1 the city. The investment in solar energy is one that will yield long-term benefits, both financially and environmentally, and it would be short- sighted to abandon this project now. The alternative—paying the contractually required fee and walking away with nothing in return— would be a waste of time and money. I urge you to prioritize the solar panel installation and ensure that our city moves forward with this project, even in the face of changing federal circumstances. Thank you for your time and consideration. Regards, Heather Lee Carciofini 1652 Lakeland Circle Sent from my iPad ... in real life, I know how to spell ;-) 2
