WORK SESSION NOT APPROVED I.CALL TO ORDER II. CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS 1. Lloyd Drilling III. ADJOURNMENT MEETING I.CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at approximately 5:30 p.m. by President Remillard. II. ROLL CALL President Remillard called the roll. APPROVAL OF AGENDA 1. Call for Changes to the Agenda 5 City of Centerville EDA Meeting Minutes March 19, 2024 There was one change to the agenda, and that was to add a façade enhancement grant application under New Business. Motion by Commissioner Swenson, seconded by President Remillard to approve the revised agenda. All in favor. Motion carried. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes were approved as presented. Motion by Commissioner Swenson and seconded by Commissioner Rios to approve the January 15, 2025, meeting minutes. All in favor. Motion carried. V. BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS 1. Bills a. Check List Executive Director Lewis reviewed the bills as revised. Executive Director Lewis reviewed the check list as presented. Discussion ensued about a couple of expenditures (lighting and marketing). Motion by Commissioner Swenson and seconded by Commissioner Rios to approve the checks as presented. All in favor. Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) Executive Director Lewis reviewed the report as presented in the packet. 2. Year to Date Financials Executive Director Lewis reviewed the financial report as presented in the packet. Motion by Commissioner Swenson and seconded by Commissioner Rios to approve the financial report as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. 3. Ongoing Programs: Executive Director Lewis reviewed the Ongoing Programs report as presented in the packet. Ћ 6 City of Centerville EDA Meeting Minutes March 19, 2024 4. AdministratorÓs Report Executive Director Lewis reviewed the AdministratorÓs Report as presented in the packet. VIII. OLD BUSINESS 1. None IX. NEW BUSINESS 1. Recommendation to the City Council on Appointment to EDA Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet. Motion by Commissioner Rios and seconded by President Remillard to Recommend the Appointment of Lloyd Drilling to the EDA. All in favor. Motion carried. st 2. Revolving Loan and Grant Application Î 7075 21 Ave. Executive Director Lewis introduced this item, noting that the application for the façade st enhancement grant is for the business (former Noble Metal building) located at 7075 21 Street. The application is for exterior cleaning and painting. Discussion ensued about partial or full painting. Motion by Commissioner Swenson, seconded by President Remillard to approve the Revolving Loan and Grant Application for FGS Property LLC in the amount of $8,782.50 All in favor. Motion carried. X. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner Swenson, seconded by President Remillard to adjourn the March 19, 2024, Economic Development Authority meeting at 7:05 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. All panels and wiring have been installed, and the system is close to being operational. Monday, April 7, 2025, the City Hall will experience an electrical outage from approximately 8 a.m. Î 9 a.m. for final wiring. City Hall will remain open and operational during this period; however, staff will be unable to answer the telephone during this time. Vendors and residents will be able to leave voicemail messages, and staff will return calls once the power is restored. We apologize for any inconveniences. We are taking one more step to become green! ASSESSOR CORNER Taxes Payable 2025 Statements and Valuation Notices In mid-March, Anoka County will be mailing out statements for Property Taxes Payable in 2025 and Valuation Notices (2024 Value that taxes will be based on in 2026). You should have received the statement by now. For general questions about these statements, Anoka County has an online resource at: https://www.anokacounty.us/281/About-Your-Tax- Statements Regarding the Valuation Notice: If you believe the valuation or classification of your property is incorrect, call the Centerville City Assessor, Mary Wells at 763-412-1966, Ext #1 to discuss it. Many issues can be resolved with a phone call to the Assessor. There is also a formal appeal option, which is at the Centerville Local Board of Appeal & Equalization meeting, held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., or shortly thereafter, at Centerville City Hall in Council Chambers. If you plan to appear at this meeting to appeal your property, please call Mary Wells ahead of time so she can research your questions prior to the meeting. PARKS & RECREATION Parks & Recreation Projects Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Play Structure Equipment The Parks & Recreation CommitteeÓs subcommittee is reviewing the RFPs for park play structure equipment and will be following up with questions to the vendors. Stay tuned. Annual Park Cleanup The Committee set their date for their Annual Park Cleanup of April 19, 2025, with a rain date of April 26, 2025, meeting at City Hall at 9 a.m. and disbursing to local parks for cleanup. Safety gear and garbage bags will be provided by the city. Minnesota Drug Card is a free statewide prescription assistance program that is available to all Minnesota residents. The program launched in 2008 to help uninsured and underinsured Minnesota residents pay for prescription medications. This program helps with medications that are covered by insurance, as well as medications that are not.
