Current Staffing for the Lino Lakes Fire Department a. 2 full-time staff: Fire Chief and Fire Lieutenant/Inspector. Both position's work Monday through Friday. Both are exempt and are required to respond back for emergencies. Both positions are part of the on-call Fire Officer response as well. b. Currently authorized for 15 part-time firefighter (duty crew) positions.The part-time duty crew firefighters work Monday through Sunday from 6 AM to 6 PM. We staff 4 part-time duty crew firefighters per shift.They operate with 2 firefighters at each fire station during these hours. c. Currently authorized for 40 Paid On-Call Firefighters. We currently have 26 Paid On-Call Firefighters. • Fire Station 1-12 Paid On-Call Call Firefighters (1 District Fire Chief, 2 Fire Lieutenants, 9 Firefighters) • Fire Station 2 -14 Paid On-Call Call Firefighters (1 District Fire Chief, 2 Fire Lieutenants, 11 Firefighters) 2. Pension Plans: Full-Time staff are in PERA Police and Fire. Currently the Part-Time Firefighters are in PERA Coordinated. Paid On-Call Firefighters are in a PERA managed Statewide Volunteer Firefighter Pension. 4. City Gate report was completed which was an analysis of the Public Safety Department and staff is working on implementing recommendations from the report. a. No longer using the Public Safety model. Completed in June, 2025. Currently working on increasing hours for duty crew to be able to work full time hours with benefits. Anticipated roll-out timeline is 4th quarter 2025. • Phase 2—design and implement command structure. Anticipated roll-out timeline is 2026 • Phase 3—TBD 5. On March 1, 2025, ISO issued Lino Lakes a 3/3Y rating.This rating was established from the data that was collected in the Fall/Winter of 2024. 6. Completed employee survey for entire staff and employee satisfaction and morale is very positive. 7. Change management— Positive leadership philosophy and organizational structural changes in Lino Lakes in 2025. 8. Lino Lakes is open to further exploring options for a partnership between the City of Centerville fire services and the City of Lino Lakes fire services.
