TITLE OF ISSUE:
Used Equipment for Royal Meadows Park/Repairs at Acorn Park
BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
The Parks and Rec. Comm. at their April 2026 meeting requested information regarding the cost of re-installing
previous equipment from Lamotte Park's 2025 playground project. Staff obtained a used equipment installer bid
to install the 2-5 yr. aged playstructure from Lamotte to Royal Meadows for $12,160.00. This cost excludes the
construction of the safety zone and engineered wood fiber for the project. A new 2-5 yr. aged play structure is
$19,192.00 for the equipment and approximately $5,033 to install with safety zone items. In 2025, Acorn Park
was to have parts replaced on the 5-12 yr. aged structure for safety issues. These parts were purchased but never
installed. After further inspection, the 2-5 yr. and 5-12 yr. aged equipment has additional parts that need
replacing for safety as well (see pics). The material cost to replace these are $7,212.53. To install last year's
parts and this year's parts if done in one mobilization, would be $7,664.00. The total then being $14,876.53.
This work is proposed to be funded in the 2026 CIP document before the City Council now.
