Lehn,Public Works Director— City of Centerville From: Oertel Architects RE: Public Survey Results Purpose Sharing the aggregated results of the public survey conducted regarding a new park building at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Brief Summary: In total,the design team received 30 responses between digital and paper submissions,the vast majority(83%)from Residents of Centerville.Age ranges were spread across many categories,with most responses split between 19-24,25- 34,45-54,and 55-64 ranges. Lack of amenities(40%) and Limited variety of activities (40%)were most cited as keeping respondents from visiting more often. Most participants would use a future building to host birthday parties/ private events (36%),followed by Observation of youth sports (25%),Youth programs (25%), and Community meetings (18%). Restroom amenities ranked most important,distantly followed by Kitchen/concessions and Outdoor gathering. A majority of respondents (62%) ranked "Reducing energy consumption through efficient building design"as most important to address environmental sustainability,followed by"Create a low-maintenance site plan that supports habitat for bees and birds"(52%) and"Use innovative techniques to reduce water consumption,such as collecting roof rainwater for reuse"(49%). Also opening rink to Centennial Youth Hockey for nights to practice on ice was a fond memory I had as a kid. We commonly had practice at Sunset Park. w. Splash pad x. N/A, great park already.
