CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. 1. Roll Call Present: Chair Dawn Kalina Commissioner DJ Olson Commissioner Jim Carciofini Commissioner Jon Krueger Commissioner Bruce Thompson Commissioner Jeannie Seppala Staff: City Administrator Athanasia Lewis City Planner Nathan Fuerst Council Liaison Russ Koski II. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION I. CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS 1. Rebecca Oldenburg-Downing The Commission interviewed Rebecca Oldenburg-Downing at their work session on January 6, 2026. III. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner Olson, seconded by Commissioner Thompson, to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING IV. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. 1. Chair Election 3. Election for Vice Chair Motion by Commissioner Seppala, seconded by Commissioner Thompson, to appoint Dawn Kalina as Chair and Jon Krueger as Vice Chair. All in favor. Motion carried. II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA IV. PUBLIC HEARINGS (6:30 PM or shortly thereafter) V. AWARDS, PRESENTATIONS, APPEARANCES 1. None VI. OLD BUSINESS 1. None VII. NEW BUSINESS 1. Recommendation to City Council on candidate for the open position on the Planning and Zoning Commission The Commission interviewed Rebecca Oldenburg-Downing at their work session earlier tonight. Motion by Commissioner Olson, seconded by Commissioner Carciofini, to recommend the appointment of Rebecca Oldenburg-Downing to the Planning and Zoning Commission. All in favor. Motion carried. VIII. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. July 1, 2025, Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting Motion by Commissioner Thompson, seconded by Commissioner Krueger, to approve the minutes as presented. All in favor. Council Member Liaison Council Member Koski reported that the tax levy increase was reduced from 8% to 6.7%. 2. Administrator’s Report Administrator Lewis reviewed the report as presented. X. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner Olson, seconded by Commissioner Thompson, to adjourn the meeting at 6:56 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried.
