TITLE OF ISSUE: 1820 Laramee Lane - Private Strom Drainage Grant Application BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The residents at 1820 Laramee Lane submitted an application for the city's storm drainage assistance program. Staff reviewed program guidelines with the applicant and exchanged several emails regarding required documentation related to bids, location for installation of a french drain, length, etc. over the course of a month. The applicant emailed staff on August 23rd to advise that the project was scheduled to begin on August 24th, which is before this could be reviewed by council. The program guidelines state that the cost share for the program are reimbursable after council approval and before the work commences if the resident is agrees to being specially assessed. The language on the application for participation without being specially assessed is vague. The applicant requested that council consider allowing an exception for partial reimbursement for her project, because she is not requesting a special assessment. The applicant received 2 quotes as required. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: Storm Water (25% of $6,490), making the city's cost $1,622.50 REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Discussion.
