Status of Comprehensive Plan Update

The purpose of this memo is to describe the status of the Comprehensive Plan Update
for the members of the Centerville Planning Commission and to recommend action to
be taken to move the plan to the next stage. We recommend that the Planning
& Zoning Commission meet after October 9th to recommend adoption of the
plan dependent on Metropolitan Council review and approval.
Status of the Comprehensive Plan Process
At the meeting on April 9, 2008, the City Council authorized the plan to be sent to
neighboring jurisdictions for review and comment. Copies of the plan along with a
cover letter were sent to the following jurisdictions:
. City of Lino Lakes
. City of Hugo
. Anoka County
. Rice Creek Watershed District
. Minnesota DNR
. Centennial Independent School District #12
. Metropolitan Council (for informal review)
Since that time, Centerville has received comments from the City of Lino Lakes, the
Metropolitan Council, Anoka County and the City of Hugo. The other jurisdictions
have all been contacted on multiple occasions to solicit comments. They have until
October 9,2008 to submit comments about the plan to Centerville. After that time,
Centerville is free to begin the process to send their plan to the
Metropolitan Council for formal review and adopt their plan.
Timeline
The following is a tentative timeline to complete the Comprehensive Plan Update:

Metropolitan Council review and approval
Met Council 120-day review period/Approval
