HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-10-05 P & Z ~.~ CITY OF CENTERVILLE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OCTOBER 5, 1999 Pursuant to due call and notice thereot: the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Centerville held its regularly scheduled meeting at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. PRESENT: Commission member Brian Hanson Commission member AI LaMotte Commission member Ray DeVine Commission member David Kilian Commission member John McLean ABSENT: Chairperson Kathy Welk Commission member Rob Sheppard STAFF: City Administrator, run March Staff Liaison, Aimee Fairbrother Council Liaison Linda Broussard Vickers CALL TO ORDER Mr. LaMotte called the meeting to order at 6:37 p.rn. PUBLIC HEARING(S) APPEARANCES NEW BUSINESS Firearm Ordinance Review The Commission discussed sections of the current Firearm Ordinance, incorporating changes agreed upon by the Commission. Please refer to the revised Firearm Ordinance for specific changes. The Firearm Ordinance will be placed on the November agenda for approval. Page 1 of 2 Meeting was stopped for a briefbreak. Motion by Mr. DeVille. seconded by Mr. Klliu to reconvene the meetiD2. Motion carried unanimouslv. Ordinance # 4 Review Mr. March indicated staffwas willing to work on combining the cmrent Ordinance #4 with Dean Johnson's proposed draft. The Commission discussed several areas of Ordinance #4, and requested an updated "draft" of Ordinance #4 two weeks before the November meeting. Mr. March stated Mr. Pa1zer would like to see the City incorporate "Zoning Permits" for items such as fences, sheds and above ground S\\<imhlinB pools that cwrently require a building permit. The Commission would like to discuss this option in more detail. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES September 7, 1999 Planning and Zoning Minutes Motion by M r. DeVille. seconded by Mr. Kitian to af)prove the September 7. 1999 Plannill2 and Zonill2 meetiD2 millutes. AD ill favor. Motion carried unanimouslv.. July 7, 1999 plElnnmg and Zoning Minutes. Tabled April 6, 1999 Planning and Zoning Minutes - Commission member Hanson and eouncn Liaison Broussard-Vickers indicated the minutes looked accurate, although a quorum was not available to motion as approved. ADJOURN Motion by Mr. LaMotte seconded by Mr. Hanson to ad.ourn the October 5. 1999 PlannilllJ and Zonill2 meetiD2 at 9:00 p.m. Motion carried unanimouslv.
