The City Council ofCenterville, Minnesota met in a closed session on Wednesday,
November 30, 2005, at 8:20 p.m. in City Hall. Present were Mayor Mary Capra, Council
members Richard Terway, Michelle Lakso, Tom Lee and JeffPaar. Also present were
Admi,.istrator Dallas Larson and TIm Hoeft, City Attorney. The purpose of the closed
meeting was to review the status of litigation relating to Ronald S. Hugger and an
unsuccessful vehicle forfeiture.
The Council received a memo from Attorney Sandra Johnson reporting on the process
and actions that led to the failed forfeiture. Attorney Hoeft reported on the events as he
could recall them and indicated that he didn't entirely agree with Johnson's conclusions
on what went wrong in the case. It was noted that the League of Minnesota Cities
Insurance Trust (LMCIT) is processing the claim. LMCIT expects the forfeiture sale
proceeds to be available to settle the claim.
The meeting was reopened to the public at 9: 18 p.m. This being the last item of business,
the meeting was duly adjourned at 9:20 p.m.
