HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-09-04 Minutes n PLANNING & ZONING MEETING - TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 1979 PRESENT: Frank Zimny, Chairman Bob LaMotte Bob Lindgren Jerry Sundberg Ray Murray Tom Wilharber Walt Prachar,liaison Bill Short, City Planner Floyd Kruger, Park Comm. representative ABSENT: Mel Dupre Joe Perkowski Mr. Short reviewed the Clearwater Creek Estates plat. Several items were mentioned: 1. Did not agree with location of the four lots on Main Street 2. Coordinate streets with Rehbein Estates 3. Soil problems within plat 4. No park land dedication within plat 5. Rezoning all except "exception" to residential Park plan for Centerville was discussed, small parks for children, large park for being considered City Park. Possibilities for park area at the end of Heritage Street and also sharing school property on a joint basis. Park Committee's recommendation was to look into the Heritage Street property for possible park site. P & Z consensus was to look into both sites. P & Z went over the Prkland Dedication Summary presented by Mr. Short. Mr. Short presented review on the land use chapter of the city plan. After much discussion on various land uses, the subject of duplexes, tri -plex, etc., was discussed. Ray Murray made a motion for the City Council to consider for purposes of discussion, their enforcement in cases of duplexes being restricted to lot size of 22,500 square feet or our equivalent of a lot and one -half, Jerry Sunderberg seconded it, motion carried. P & Z also recommended having a moratorium on the building of multiple dwellings of 3 or more family units for one year. Flood Plain ordinance was discussed. Jerry Sundberg made a motion to go along with the HUD minimum level requirement, Bob LaMotte seconded it, motion carried. P & Z will hold special meeting on Tuesday, September 18 at 7:00 pm at City Hall. Mr. Short will be in attendance at the October 2nd P & Z meeting.
