Meeting called to order by chairman at 7:00 pm.
Mr. Zimny voiced negative response from people he had contacted
concerning the mobile home park proposal. Jerry Sundberg also
heard negative response from residents. Mr. Zimny was con-
cerned about the impact on our school system. Mr. McClellan
advised the board about the .7 pupil per unit impact which
is possible. No problem in housing students. Three years
would make no problem. Taxes on mobile homes are figured
at $250. per unit - homes pay on valuation bais.
Applicants (Schmitz & Schifsky) expressed desire to get special
use permit for entire area proposed with a phased operation
dependent on acquiring additional sewered area. Some dis-
xxxxcussion on tax base implications, police and fire pro-
tection requirements. Concern expressed by P & Z as to city's
guarantee of performance on conditions by developers. Con-
sensus if permit was issued each half of development should be
able to stand on its own as regards all required facilities.
Copies of trailer park ordinance was requested by members and
members would make recommendations on April 3 meeting.
Some discussion of inquiry by Prachar on behalf of interested
parties on sentiment involving establishment of manufacturing
concern that has silk screening operation. Development would
take place on commercial property currently held by Gerald
Rehbein on Main Street. Response affirmative.
Some discussion with preliminary land use plan, no problems
as presented.
