PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 8,1997
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of
Centerville held their regularly scheduled meeting on January 8, 1997 at City Hall.
Meeting was called to order at 6:40 PM. Members present: Chairman Michael Navin,
Nancy Johnson, Kevin Fogarty, City Councilmember Liaison, Laura Powers - Rasmussen.
APPROVAL, OF MINUTES:
MOTION by Fogarty, seconded by Johnson to approve minutes of December 4, P &R
meeting with a change indicating minutes were submitted from Kevin Fogarty.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Discussion of status of existing parks - After discussion P &R will be refocusing attention
to the development of Laura LaMotte Park. P &R would appreciate a break down of 1996
P & R expenses. Analysis on tactical decisions for development of Laura LaMotte Park.
We also request from Paul Palzer, what was withdrawn used by Public Works from P &R
funds.
North Metro Update - Navin will contact Janet Bona regarding the January meeting.
Budget - Tabled
NEW BUSINESS
Chain of Lakes Little League - Request is approved for use of Laura LaMotte Fields
beginning April 1, through August 15, from 4:00 PM until dark.
P &R request posting an City sign - "Ice rink available for private reservations 429 - 3232"

MOTION by Johnson, seconded by Fogarty to adjourn the P &R meeting at 7:53 PM
