HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-04-30 Minutes (May Meeting) CITY OF CENTERVILLE — PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE ENC MEETING MINUTES APRIL 30, 1996 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular scheduled meeting on April 30, 1996. Meeting was called to order at 6:50 p.m. Members present: N. Johnson, C. ZoffPelton, D. Larson, K. Fogarty. Absent: R. Thompson, M. Navin, B. Bisek, City Council Liaison. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Under New Business, Eagle Pass: It will be in addition to the areas of the creek and 100 year flood or wetland req. Amend to read: The four acres are in addition to any row, utility or easements relating to Clearwater Creek. LCMR Grant Application - Greenway Corridor Fogarty brought up LCMR Grant application for Clearwater Creek Greenway Corridor. P&R supports premise but the proposal came to late to incorporate into Evergreen Estates (Eagle Pass) and Clearwater Estates. In proposed comp plan, figure 11 (growth management plan) identifies three city park acquisitions along the creek to be incorporated into the greenway. Laurie LaMotte Park The committee reviewed, revised the concept plan for park improvements. MOTION by Pelton, second by Fogarty to approve the park usage fee schedule to amend resolution 96 -05. Motion carried unanimously. Paul Palzer requested suggestions as to where the girl scouts could plant a four foot pine tree. P &R will identify a location with a stake. Larson will contact Paul with this location. P&R requests total acreage on Acorn Creek development excluding easements and flood plain. Also a dollar amount for cash in lieu of remaining dedication. The committee also questioned or requested that the park property be staked out from Mill Road to Old Mill Road. P &R discussed the comp plan in preparation for joint comp plan meeting the following day. MOTION by Felton, second by Fogarty to allow coach pitch baseball to practice only at Watertower Park for the 1996 season. Motion carried, Johnson abstained. ADJOURN MOTION by Larson, second by Johnson to adjourn the regular P &R meeting at 8:51 p.m. Motion carried unanimously. Respectfully submitted, Nancy Johnson P &R Committee Member
