HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-03-06 Minutes CITY OF CENTERVILLE PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES MARCH 6, 1996 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular scheduled meeting on March 6, 1996. Meeting was called to order at 6:33 p.m. Members present: M. Navin, N. Johnson, C. ZoffPelton, D. Larson, 13. Bisek, K. Fogerty. Absent: R. Thompson, Council liaison Powers - Rasmussen. APPEARANCES Larry and Alice Woiak, 6925 Centerville Road, appeared asking P &R to approve selling of 75 feet of park expansion property to extend their yard. Property was purchased without knowledge of property line. P &R agreed to individually visit the property and discuss options at the next meeting. Motion by Pelton, second by Johnson. APPROVAL OF MINI JTEj MOTION by Pelton, second by Johnson to approve the regular meeting minutes of January 3, 1996, Motion carried, Bisek, Navin and Larson abstained. MOTION by Fogerty, second by Pelton to approve the special meeting minutes of January 17, 1996. Motion carried, Navin abstained. MOTION by Pelton, second by Navin to approve the regular meeting minutes of February 7, 1996 with one amendment - Committee member Fogerty was present. Motion carried, Johnson and Larson abstained. J .AMOTTE PARK UPDATE P &R has received application for application for government grant. Pelton has been in contact with Audrey Osgood Mularie with DNR for suggestions. Pelton and Johnson will work together on completing application by May 1st. Navin is also a partial contributor. NORTH METRO / T JNO RECREATION PROGRAM Navin had nothing new to report, he will continue communications. CrREENWAY CORRIDOR P &R would like Lino Lakes to supply us with any written information they have to help them understand the project. PR3- 6MM.WPS 1 Park and Rec Meeting Minutes of March 6, 1996 NEWSLETTERITEMS Fogerty will be submitting letter to thanks to those who contributed to the success of the rink operations. P &R will be asking for volunteers from residents to help with the clean up of the parks. NEW RTTSTNESS - COMMITTEE MEMBER Need to start looking for another P &R person to replace Pelton this summer. ARBOR DAY CT PANT TP P &R recommends that Centerville Brownie Troop 1984 contact Russ Almendinger at Centerville Tree Farm to see if he will donate a tree, and also Paul Palzer at Public Works. Bisek will participate on behalf of P &R. ADJOI TRN MOTION by Bisek, second by Johnson to adjourn the regular meeting at 8:04 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
