MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, January 4, 1995 - 6:30 P.M.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation
Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting
on Wednesday, January 4, 1995 at the City Hall. Acting
Chairperson Navin called the meeting to order at 6:37 P.M.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
December 4, 1994 meeting
Consideration of the December 4, 1994 meeting minutes was tabled
due to lack of members present from December meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
1995 Line Item Budget
Motion by Pelton, second by Navin, to revise to exclude
playground equipment and picnic tables. Keep hand rails and
ramps but use funds from operating expenses, any '94 surplus and
charitable contributions as needed. Passed unanimously.
Rink Attendant Update
Three rink attendants have been hired. Applications and W2 forms
have been submitted to staff.
Rink Maintenance Update
Ice is currently in good condition. The Hockey Association,
Public Works and Park and Rec are cooperatively flooding the
rinks.

Security Light for Central Park Update
Motion by Pelton, second by Navin, for lighting to be addressed
in a Comprehensive Plan prepared for grant submittal. Passed
unanimously.
Any other Old Business
Larson explained a mix -up in responsibility in the Tree Farm
fundraiser.
NEW BUSINESS
Request for Rinks - Centennial Youth Hockey Association
Motion by Navin, second by Larson, to approve the hours of 5:30-
9:00 P.M., Monday through Thursday, for the Centennial Youth
Hockey Association. Navin to confirm with a letter to the
Association. Passed unanimously.
Transportation Enhancements Program
Pelton will represent the City at the informational meeting on
January 15, 1995 from 9:00 - Noon.
Any other New Business?
Navin will contact Chief Van Burkleo to request a police visit

Navin will contact Chief Van Burkleo to request a police visit
each evening, at irregular hours, to help the attendants keep
order ,to check for safety and provide a presence.
Park and Rec requests staff to put a notice on Cable to advertise
rink hours and invite residents to use the rinks and warming
house.
Adjourn
Motion by Navin, second by Larson to adjourn the meeting, motion
carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 7:47 P.M.
