Chairperson Dixon called the meeting to order at 6:37 p.m. Present: Felton, Navin, Thomson, Reisdorfer. Absent: Larson, City Council Liaison MINUTES October 5, 1994 Regular Meeting Motion by Pelton, second by Navin to approve the October 5, 1994 regular meeting minutes, motion carried unanimouisly. November 2, 1994 Regular Meeting Motion by Pelton, second by Dixon to approve the November 2, 1994 regular meeting minutes with the correction of Comittee member Navin beingcabsent,'motions carried unanimously. OLD BUSINESS: Line Item Budget It appeared to be the consensus of the Park and Recreation Committee members that since the City Council decreased their budget by $5,000, the Park and Recreation Committee will basicly only operating funds for 1995. No improvements will be possible. Council member Wilharber noted that the City Council would like to have a zero percent increase in property taxes. Regarding the budget and redoing it for the $5,000 decrease, the Park and Recreation Committee will table discussion until the next regular meeting. The Park and Recreation Committee requests City staff to include copies of their 1995 budget in the next packet. Central Park Extension The Park and Recreation Committee noted they have been advised that the extension of Central Park has been put on hold. A goal of the Committee will be to put together a comprehensive plan with detailed development costs by March of 1995. Central Park - Rink Attendant The park and Recreation Committee member Navin and Thompson noted they currently have two applicants. Chairperson Dixon submitted four more names for consideration. Committee members Navin and Thompson are to coordinate interviews. Central Park - Flooding Committee member Thompson will coordinate the flooding of the rink with City staff and rink attendants. He will also ask City staff about clearing snow from the rink and other maintenance issues. P &R MEETING MINUTES DECEMBER 7, 1994 PAGE TWO The hours are to remain the same as last year. The Centennial Youth Hockey Association will donate to Centerville Park and Recreation Committee $1,000.00 for hockey related improve -± ments. Committee member Thompson and Navin will handle the expend- itures. Once the money is received from the Centennial Youth Hockey Assoc- iation, the person receiving it will send a thank you letter to them. It was noted the Centennial Youth Hockey Association has not yet asked for the use of the rink, but they are assuming its use. Committee member Reisdorfer will contact them and have them contact Committee - member Navin. Committee member Navin would like to thank Paul Palzer, Public Works Director /Building Inspector,for his excellent work so far on the rink maintenance. Nite Golf Update Chairperson Dixon will follow up on the funds from the event. NEW BUSINESS: Tree Farm Fund Raiser Committee member Larson was responsible for this event. Nothing has been done at this point. Committee member Navin will send the owners of the Tree Farm a letter of apology regarding us not full - filling their expectations. Securtiy Light for Central Park Committee member Thompson will get some cost estimates on what security lighting will cost. Tree Shrub and Seedling Order Not interested at this point. Reisdorfer Resignation Motion by Pelton, second by Dixon to accept the resignation of Committee member Reisdorfer effective December 31, 1994, AYE - Pelton; AYE - Dixon; AYE Thompson; AYE - Reisdorfer; NAY - Navin, motion carried. Dixon Resignation Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Thompson to accept the resignation of Chairperson Dixon effective December 31, 1994, motion carried unanimously. ADJOURN Motion by Navin, second by Pelton to adjourn the meeting, motion carried unanimously.
