HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-05-08 Minutes PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES SATURDAY, MAY 8, 1993 - 9:00 A.M. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of Centerville held a special meeting on Saturday, May, 1993 at 9 :00 a.m. at the City Hall. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Acorn Creek Development Park Land Dedication. Chairperson Dixon called the meeting to order at 9 :05 a.m. Present: Drilling, Navin, Reisdorfer. Absent: Larson. The Park and Recreation Committee discussed the Acorn Creek Development as related to whether the City should take 3.7 (10 %) acres or 2.7 acres plus $12,000.00 in park dedication fees. Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Dixon to recommend to the City Council the taking of all land, 3.7 acres, with the following assumptions: 1. The land will not be divided by a road; 2. The land will be usable land, no low land or trees; 3. The land is to be graded and seeded by the Developer; 4. A road is needed for access to the park for maintenance and emergency access, motion carried unanimously. OTHER: Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Navin to direct City Staff to write a letter to the Centennial Little League Association directing them: - that they are required to put a deposit down for keys to the restrooms; - the restrooms are to be kept open during all their • games; - they will be responsible for locking the restrooms at the end of the day; - mention that people are urinating outside and this is against the City and Department of Health rules; - if it is not done immediately the City will be forced to revoke use of the fields, motion carried unanimously. Motion by Navin, second by Drilling to direct Committee member Drilling to order the playground equipment for the second phase of the Water Tower Park; - Committee member Navin is to look into the sand and asphalt path; - Committee member Reisdorfer is to handle the timbers, motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned 10:30 a.m. Committee member Drilling asked if the Park and Recreation Committee members present would be compensated for this meeting. { This meeting replaced the regularly scheduled meeting of May 5. 1993.
