HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-11-13 Minutes Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Park and Recreation
Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting
on November 13, 1990 at City Hall. Chairperson Dixon called the
meeting to order at 7:09 p.m. Present: LeTendre, Downing,
Reisdorfer, Liaison Haberman. Absent: Drilling.
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Dixon to approve the October 9,
1990 meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
Royal Meadows Park
It was noticed that the wood chips had yet to be placed on the
easement. We ask that Tamara Miltz- Miller, Clerk /Administrator,
reinforce this directive to Orville Hughes, Public Works
Director, and also ask if rock should be placed through the
drainage portion of the path.
Chairperson Dixon and Committee member LeTendre will inspect the
position of the fence and obtain the appropriate estimates to
correct it.
Water Tower Park - Grading
In the annotations received for this meeting, it was mentioned
that we were over budget with the grading by $500. Committee
members remember having $2,000 budgeted for this and the lowest
bid was under $2,000. We would like a clarification on this from
the City office.
The Park and Recreation Committee would like Tammy to ask Ory
about the snow fence around the seedlings.
Long Term Development of Parks
The Park and Recreation Committee needs a copy of the City
Comprehensive Plan and City maps for each member. With these,
each member will work on a trail system to be discussed at our
next meeting. The CommftLee needs to develop a Cnmprehensive
Plan for Parks and Recreation and have it adopted by the City
Council.
As part of the trail system, it was suggested by Liaison Haberman
that we consider a trail north from the school to the Peltier
Lake Drive area.
Other suggestions regarding future park development:
1) Central Park
- Stadium seating for soccer fields;
- Reseed soccer field;
- Baseball field fence;
- Tot lot;
- Benches;
- Bike racks;
- Extra parking.
P &R. Meeting Minutes

Hughes on this matter.

both of the ten acre lots. Any meetings with the
owners should include Mayor Haberman and
Chairperson Dixon.
3) Royal Meadows

4) Mill Road Park Property
- Add a trail from Fox Run to the park and possibly
benches.
5) Other Comments
- LeTendre will talk with the coordinator of the
Parks and Recreation at Lino Lakes to view their
future plans and how they might interact with
Centerville's.
Planning and Zoning Joint Meeting
The Committee will put off any meeting with the Planning and
Zoning Commission until the Park and Recreation Committee has a
Comprehensive Plan drafted.
Golden Meadows - Park Land Dedication
The Park and Recreation Committee would like any dedication
agreement clarified in writing and drawings. Upon this we will
get input from the City Engineer. It was suggested by Liaison
Haberman to have the sewer and water contract grading included in
the tennis court /park area.
1991 City Celebration
While it is not agreed upon as to what City Committee /Commission
should be in charge of such an event. Committee member LeTendre
will act as a liaison with Karen Glocke and possibly meet with
the Lions Club for their input and possible involvement.
Central Park
Chairperson Dixon will look into the following items at Central
Park
1) Hockey rink lighting;
