of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Tuesday,
October 9, 1990 at City Hall. Acting Chairperson Reisdorfer
called the meeting to order at 7;00 p.m. Present; Drilling,
Downing, Liaison Pelton. Absent: LeTendre, Dixon.
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Drilling to approve the September
10, 1990 meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously.
Joint Meeting Date - Planning and Zoning Commission
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Drilling to accept the Planning
and Zoning Commission's recommendation of November 7, 1990 joint
meeting date, motion carried unanimously.
Park Land Dedication - Golden Meadows
The Park and Recreation Committee has negotiated with Rehbein
that the park land dedication consist of half the amount of land
value equaling $24,600 and one acre of park land. The acre of
land will be located on the southeast corner of the Golden
Meadows development, and will abut the Houle property. The
public park access will include an eastern driveway with room for
a four car parking area. This acre will be devoted to a dual
tennis court. The cost of the dual tennis court will be
researched by Committee member Downing.
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Drilling to recommend to the City
Council the acceptance of the park land dedication fees of
$24,600 and one acre of land from the Golden Meadows development,
motion carried unanimously.
Jong Term Development of Parks
ROYAL MEADOWS
1. Fence by path is in wrong place. It is off by about 10
feet. Tamara Miltz- Miller, Clerk /Administrator should
direct Orville Hughes, Public Works Director, to correct the
fence's location.
2. Wood chips will be placed along the entire easement. This
should help control abuse of the properties surrounding the
park from the public wanting access to park. A decision
will be made by spring of 1991 by the Park and Recreation
Committee on a way to make the path narrower and protect
property owners' lawns and landscaping from the public.
3. Park benches, asphalt for hop- scotch and more tot -line'
recreation equipment were discussed as serious consideration
for the park.
4. Lilac bushes will be placed on the back (south side) of park
to prevent public from walking through private property in
the spring of 1991. Committee member Downing will have the
responsibility for the lilac bushes.

WATER TOWER PARK
1. Grading and seeding to be completed by end of fall 1990.
Tamara Miltz- Miller, Clerk /Administrator, needs to direct
contractor to complete this project.
2. Committee member Reisdorfer presented a rough draft of
grading and ideas for recreation facilities:
A. Basketball court.
B. Open field for informal ball playing games.
C. Park benches.
D. Tot -line equipment, i.e. swings, slide.
E. Trail surrounding water tower.
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Drilling to accept layout of
grading for the water tower park, motion carried unanimously.
3. Tamara Miltz- Miller, Clerk /Administrator, should direct the
Public Works Department on the placement of the snow fence
on south side of seedlings. This should help protect from
possible damage from snow mobiles.
CENTRAL PARK
1. Will place small tot -line and /or swings with park benches
near soccer field.
CENTER HTTJ, PARK
Potential park land north of the Center Hills development will be
looked into further by Chairperson Dixon. There are two ten acre
parcels. One at a value of $37,300 and the other at $20,400.
The value of the properties is from the Anoka County Assessors
Office. The land is currently not for sale.
November 13, 1990 Meeting
The November 13, 1990 Park and Recreation Committee meeting will
be devoted to detailing the long term development of
Centerville's park and trail system.

Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Drilling to adjourn the meeting,
motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 9 :05 p.m.
