Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting
on Monday, September 10, 1990 at City Hall. Chairperson Dixon
called the meeting to order at 6 :00 p.m. Present: Drilling,
LeTendre, Downing, Reisdorfer.
Park Tour
Members of the Park and Recreation Committee toured the Water
Tower, Royal Meadows and potential park land north of the Center
Hills development. The following recommendations were made:
A.) Water Tower Park
1. Fence around tower and shed
A. Sign (wood with burned out letters) with name and
hours
3. Six car asphalt parking spaces close to road
4. Grading - flat but save big trees
Member Reisdorfer will be liaison person with
City Engineer
5. Landscaping - Member Drilling will talk to Carol
Peiton for ideas
B.) Royal Meadows
1. Fence by path is in the wrong place. Orville
Hughes, Public Works Director, should find the
stake either with a metal detector or surveyor.
Member LeTendre will find out what the cost is to
fix it.
Put wood chips on path between houses from street,
to park. Put rocks in swaie by park first. Put
heavy duty landscape edging on edges of path. See
diagram.

we can buy it for?

Motion by Dixon, second by Reisdorfer to direct the
Clerk /Adir,inistrator to take care of the following items:
- Direct Orville Hughes, Public Works Director, to do the
following work at Royal Meadows Park:
1. Fence by path is in the wrong place. Find the
stake either with a metal detector or surveyor.
2. Put wood chips on path between houses from
street to park. Put rocks in swale by park
first. Put heavy duty landscape edging on
edges of path. (See diagram);
- Check on prices of the following:
1. Fence around tower and shed at the Water
Tower Park
2. Signs (wood with burned out letters) with
name and hours for Water Tower and Royal
Meadows Park,
3. Six car asphalt parking spaces at Water Tower
Park, close to road
4. Grading of Water Tower Park - flat but save
big trees

Davis' property.
- To research the answers to the following questions
regarding potential park land north of the Center Hills
development (southern and northern parcels)
1. Where exactly is it?
2. Is it presently for sale?
3. Is the $37,700 and $20,400 market values what
we can buy it for?
4. How big is it?
Motion carried unanimously.
Regular Meeting at City Rant
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by LeTendre to approve the July 17,
1990 special meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by LeTendre to approve the August
14, 1990 regular meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Dixon, second by Drilling to table discussion of the

I long term development of parks until the next regular meeting,
where it will be the only agenda item discussed, motion carried
unanimously.
CENTRAL PARK OPEN HOUSE
The Park and Recreation Committee felt it was successful, Many
"expected" people weren't there, but many - unexpected - people
were.
The Park and Recreation Committee would like the City Council to
give a one (1) year notice if they are to be in charge of any
City Celebrations.

Clerk/Administrator to send the following thank you notes:
1. McDonald 's on Highway 61 in White Bear Lake for drink
cooler and beverage;
2. Centerville School (Dan Kelley) for coffee pot;
3. Anoka County Traveler for bus tours of city;

NTGHT GOLF FUND RATSER
September 7, 1990 night was a success - forty people, $821
raised.

Motion by Dixon, second by Drilling to send Steve Appel, %25.
Centerville Road, a letter and gift certificate for the
"misunderstanding" on longest drive award, motion carried
unanimously.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION'S REQUEST FOR JOINT MEETING
The Park and Recreation Committee would like to meet. The
meeting date can either be at a special meeting on October 23,
1990 or at Planning and Zoning Commission's November 6, 1990
meeting or possibly at Park and Recreation Committee's. November
13, 1990 meeting.
Motion by Downing, second by LeTendre to request. that any maps
drawn by developers that, are asking for park decisions by Jive to
the Park and Recreation Committee, motion carried unanimously.
MATTING
Decision made at previous meeting. $1,300 materials. Doug Bloom
- labor donation. Thank you letter should be sent to him upon
completion.
±OTNT POWERS
Member Drilling asked a question regarding the Lino Lakes desire
for two votes.
Comments were made by Member LeTendre regarding. withdrawal of
parties.
Motion by Drilling, second by Downing to request
Clerk /Administrator to sent letter to Marty Asieson, Lino Lakes
Supervisor of Parks, asking what criterion is ugh t- - d to
determine number of votes allowed per city, motion carried
unanimously.
