Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting
on Tuesday, August 14, 1990 at City Hall. Chairman Dixon called
the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present: . LeTendre, Drilling,
Reisdorfer, Liaison Neumann; Absent: Downing.
Motion by Dixon, second by Drilling to approve the July 10, 1990
meeting minutes with the following correction:
page one, paragraph nine now reads: "... the possible
purchase of a used 24 hours power..."
amend to read: "...the possible purchase of a used 20 horse
power....
motion carried unanimously.
£.nce at Royal Meadows Park
The following residents were present and discussed their concerns
of increased traffic in their yards due to the installation of
the fence and Royal Meadows and the Park and Recreation
Committee's intentions regarding the easements between their
properties:
- Jim Davis - 7152 Brian Way
- John and Shelly Greene - 7160 Brian Way
- Mike Thompson - 7144 Brian Way
The Park and Recreation Committee told the residents that we
would look into the options available on both issues and inform
them.
The residents also expressed concerns about the dirty /clogged
drainage drains and the level of the pond. The Park and
Recreation Committee directed them to City Hall and Tamara Miitz-
Miller, Clerk /Administrator.
Grading of Water Tower Park
Orville Hughes, Public Works Director, and Gerald Rehbein were
thcir erns abo�,t the grading at. the park.

No overall plan has been laid out but they have been asked
several times to do different grading jobs. They felt it was an
expensive way to do it.
The Park and Recreation Committee does plan to do an overall plan
and have the grading complete this year.
It was noted that Ory should be taking his direction from Tamara
Miltz- Miller, Clerk /Administrator, in these situations.
Motion by Dixon, second by LeTendre to halt all expenditures for
grading at the Water Tower Park for now, motion carried
unanimously.

Golden Meadows
Gerald Rehbein, developer, briefly present that this was a
ninety -six unit POD (planned unit development); twelve eight -plex
units. The Park and Recreation Committee was asked how they
wanted to handle the park dedication. Issue was tabled until
more information was available.

Central Park Oren House
This is to be an Open House, not a City Celebration.
Two picnic tables have been ordered for the park.
Motion by Dixon, second by LeTendre to have Tamara Miltz- Miller,
Clerk /Administrator to direct Orville Hughes, Public Works
Director, to do the following:
1.) Prime and paint building doors;
2.) Remove carpet and put it into garage;
3.) Install door closures;
4.) Drag pleasure rink perimeter;
5.) Trim weeds in hockey rink;
6.) Keep doors open when possible to remove musty smell;
and to have Committee member Drilling check into a display
listing the volunteers, motion carried unanimously.
The following needs to be done:
1.) LeTendre to check into a tent;
2.) Drilling to arrange games;
3.) Downing to set up posters for the open house;
- hours: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- dedication at 2:00 p.m.
4.) LeTendre will be Master of Ceremonies;
5.) Reisdorfer to organize food;
- cookies, coffee and punch
6.) Dixon to look into putting sand in hockey rink for
volley ball;
7.) LeTendre organizing volley ball netting and stands.
Night Golf Fund Raiser
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Dixon to direct Tamara Miltz-
Milier, Clerk /Administrator to request volunteers from the other
City committees and the City Council to help, motion carried
unanimously.
Member Dixon to cover the Lino Lakes area with posters and door
prizes.

Member LeTendre has ordered all the equipment and will meet with
golf course officials.
Member LeTendre is to coordinate the event.
Council Meeting
Committee members will meet at the Water Tower Park on Wednesday,
August 22, 1990 at 6:00 p.m. to review current grading. Also go
over to Royal Meadows park to review its current status.
Following that, members will go to the City Council meeting to
discuss grade levels.
Roval Meadows Park
Motion by Dixon, second by LeTendre to direct Tamara Milts-
Miller, Clerk /Administrator to have sand put in park sand box and
give Park and Recreation Committee more information regarding the
request for sand by the swings, motion carried unanimously.
Handicap Accessibility Central Park
Motion by Dixon, second by Reisdorfer to have Tamara Miltz-
Miller, Clerk /Administrator, direct Orville Hughes, Public Works
Director, to put up handicap railings and do a final grade around
the concrete patio and sidewalk, motion carried unanimously.
City Tractor
Member Drilling noted that several people have approved her
feeling that the large tractor was a Park and Recreation purchase
when it was actually a City purchase.

Table unit next regular meeting.
199 Budget
Total budget for 1991 of $35,400 was detailed and left for Tamara
Miltz- Miller, Clerk /Administrator. A copy of the Park and
Recreation Committee's proposed 1991 budget is on file with the
Clerk/Adminsitrator.
Planning and Zoning Joint Meeting
Issue tabled until next regular meeting.
Matting for Central Park
Member Dixon will obtain additional samples and costing
information for the matting needed on the concrete for the
skating season.

September 11, 1990 Meeting
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Dixon to have Tamara Miltz-
Miller, Clerk/ Administrator, coordinate our next meeting with
Mayor Haberman and Orville Hughes, Public Works Director. This
meeting is to include a tour of all existing parks and options
for future parks.
