Minutes from March meeting were accepted after a motion from Maureen and seconded from Leon. Loren Simpson, Centennial Little League, presented a request to use both fields at LaMotte Park from May 19 — July 24th for 2 boys Little League teams (8 & 9 year olds and 10 & 11 year olds) as well as for 2 girl softball teams (8& 9 year olds and 10 & 11 year olds) from 6 -.9 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.. Motion was made by Floyd and seconded by Leon that we permit Little League boys team to have benched field on Tuesdays and Thursdayslfaom May 19 — July 24th and have girls softball team to have other field Tuesdays and Thursdays from May 19 — July 24th. Motion accepted by committee members present. Loren will get us a schedule once it is compiled. The location of park at Royal Meadows was previously confused.. The correct lot must be cleared of debris and weeds cut before we can proceed with erecting equipment. Carol Pelton submitted a landscape plan through Maureen, as she left for China April lst. It was carefully done and seems to be most acceptable to all as a possible layout of equipment and future landscape materials. All appreciated her time and talent in the layout. ::O will ii.: i. td Llano Club to Our rOgulO... commi t tc^.0 WOOti g in May. At that time we hope to set up some agreeable plans on layout of LaMotte Park. Lions Cbtb has approximately S5000 which they are holding for I the park. They wish to use warming house for their meetings. They also plan to cover costs for the well and electricity hook up. Floyd Kruger suggested we help cover cost if they are planning a 4 " well, as we should h ave a 6" well since Fire Department wishes to use well for fill spout. Carol also submitted some landscape plans on LaMotte Park She planned some activitt areas on land belonging to St. Paul Water works, so part of her plan must be disregarded yet her ideas of rest of park were appreciated. Park & Recreation Meeting cont. Larry telephoned Maureen before meeting and gave her quote from T. A. Schiefsky on repair of half of tennis court: $2800. The committee felt that was too expensive to accept at this time. Tennis nets should be put up on far court , as Maureen has heard from a few residents that they would like to use courts. Maureen called Debbie to order Satellite for LaMotte Park beginning May 10th. Removal date will be decided in August. We received application for LCMR /LAWCOM grant monies, which is due May 5th. After reviewing the basic application we all realized we would not have enough time to gather needed information. Lloyd suggested we call their offices and ask if these applications could be sent out sooner, as we do not have staff and records at our finger tips to compile so much information in such a short time. We will have copies of La Motte Park maps for all for next meeting, as well as Royal Meadows. Maureen will ask Debbie to give us some budget figures to use for next meeting, so we can let Lions Club know what monies we have for LaMotte park, and when money will be available. Meeting adjourned 9:OOPM Respectfully submitted, Parks & Recreation Committee •
