No minutes from October meeting, as Lloyd and Leon were the only ones who attended. ¢harlie Cheesbrough presented information from Hockey Association concerning two Mite teams who will be using ice rink. Each team will need approximately 1 hour practice time two nights a week. The schedule will be given to us once it is worked out. There is approximately 30 children composing the two teams. of that between 10 - 15 children are from Centerville. Mr. Cheesbrough made some requests, one concerned giving keys to coaches. Floyd represented the Park Committee in saying we would rather an attendant be at rink when the teams are here, whether it be practice or flooding, as we forsee possible problems if keys were given out. Mr. Cheesbrough would like to help with flooding of ice and will accept any instruction on our system of flooding. We will train his volunteers at the same time we instruct our attendants. Mr. Cheesbrough will be notified once this date has been established. Larry will check on the number of shovels for attendants and more will be purchased if needed. The feasibility of the use of the tractor on ice for snow removal will also be checked. TOT LOT - Royal Meadows - debris has been piled on the lot by Develop- ment. We will have Harvey remove it and charge the owners of Development for his time. Ti* pl*yground equipment is in. The installation of the swings and sIE,de will be top priority this Spring. Location of equipment should laid out on paper tefore,installation. Marcel informed us the well and power • • . - �.. . . • - • Park & Recreation Meeting cont. to Park are the Lions Club project now..The actual hook up of power is quite expensive and is slowing things a bit. He also suggested we look into moving back the outfield fences, as they are in to far for the type of "sluggers" that show up at tournament time. The condition of Tennis Court was discussed. New posts have been installed. We will look into the possible repair of the "skirting" on the metal nets as we should be able to use them again. The court has sunk again. Harvey has put some blacktop on it. 94article has been place in the clatelfied section of Quad advertising for attendants to attend informational meeting on Thursday, November 21st at FPM at City Hall. The minimum age is 16 and a job description will be given to attendants as guidelines for their duties. Larry suggested the possibility of installing a pay phone in shelter. Maureen gave her experiences with pay phones in shelter buildings from working in New Brighton. They were hardly ever useable because of vandalism. Larry suggested using a cordless telephone. Nothing was decided. Larry will have Debbie order a satellite for rink use. Meeting adjourned at 8:35PM Respectfully submitted, Park & Recreation Committee
