Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting
on September 2, 1992 at the Central Park Building. Chairperson
Dixon called the meeting to order at 6 :30 p.m. Present:
Reisdorfer, Drilling, Navin. Committee member Larson arrived at
8:00 p.m.
MINUTES
Motion by Navin, second by Reisdorfer to approve the July 1, 1992
meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Navin, second by Larson to approve the August 5, 1992
meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
Bill Bisek - Kellv's Korner Bar - Request for Use of Softball
Fields
Bill Bisek, owner of Kelly's Korner Bar, appeared before the Park
and Recreation Committee to request the use of the Centerville
Softball Fields. Mr. Bisek would like to sponsor a softball
league.
The following issues were discussed:
- $200 - $250 tournament fee for use of fields;
- the tournament fee does not include tournament
maintenance for every game (i.e. dragging the fields
etc.);
- Mr. Bisek would like to help the community;
- Mr. Bisek would like the use of the fields for the
1993 -1994 season;
- 12 weekend tournaments - per season;
- Leagues: three nights a week and would like to the use
of both field;
- Mr. Bisek would only be allowed the use of one field
three nights a week, the Little League also would need
a field;
- the alcohol in the park rule would be enforced;
- Mr. Bisek may decide to finance a lighting system for
the fields;
- Mr. Bisek will put in writing what he needs and his
ideas;
- Mr. Bisek discussed the possibility of leasing the
hockey arena for broomball in the winter. Mr. Bisek
was asked to get the proposal for broomball in early.
APPEARANCES
at Turgeon - Chairperson - North Metro Recreation Committee
Pat Turgeon, North Metro Recreation Committee Chairperson,
appeared before the Park and Recreation Committee to update on
the North Metro Recreation Committee activities. Ms. Turgeon

noted that the Centennial School District Observer has published
details of what activates are to be offered and the dates. Ms.
Turgeon also noted that Mike Lynch and a movie night have been
set -up. A Family Recreation Night at Bunker Hills Park and fire
arms instruction have been discussed as possible future
activities. Ms. Turgeon noted that Kathy Wyland, Independent
School District #12 Community Services, would like to co- sponsor
a barn dance and may fund 50% of the function. Ms. Turgeon noted
that she will update the Park and Recreation Committee again in
three months.
OLD BUSINESS
Proposed Acorn Creek Development - Gerald Rehbein - Park Land
Dedication
It was noted the Moore's would like $80,000.00 for their 10 acres
of land east of the proposed Acorn Creek Development. It was
also noted that the park dedication fees for the proposed Acorn
Creek Development would be approximately $40,000.00.
Mr. Rehbein noted he would update the Park and Recreation
Committee at the next meeting.
The Park and Recreation Committee decided to table discussion of
the park land dedication for the proposed Acorn Creek Development
until the next meeting.
J,ights at Hockey Rink
Committee member Larson will discuss bids with contractors for
new lights. Chairperson Dixon is not available to meet with
contractors to discuss bids.
The Park and Recreation Committee is only taking bids for new
lights, poles and all that is needed (from scratch). It was
noted that nobody is authorized, at this time, to approve bids
before the Committee has discussed them. The Park and Recreation
Committee would like at least two bids, but would prefer three
bids.
1993 Budget
The Park and Recreation Committee recommends to the City Council
the 1993 Budget Dollar amount be $33,500.00.
UPDATES
Trash Cans
It was noted that Mayor Buckbee donated 6 to 7 plastic barrels.
The barrels are to be placed in the parks by September 30, 1992.

Animal Control
The Park and Recreation Committee asked if anything have been
done with animal control proposals.
Soccer Fields
The Park and Recreation Committee would like to have the Soccer
Field seeded and fixed (where the ditch digging was done) no
later than September 15, 1992. This expenditure is not to come
from Park and Recreation Committee for the repairs. The Park and
Recreation Committee feels that this is the City's
responsibility.
Hot Doa Shack
It was noted that the hot dog shack is not done yet, but will be
done by September 15, 1992.
City Hall Trees
It was noted the trees are no long available. A letter should be
sent to Pat Downing stating that the City Hall trees are no
longer available. There is a possibility of more trees becoming
available in the future and the Park and Recreation Committee
will keep the Downing "s advised.
ADJOURN
Motion by xxxx, second by xxxx to adjourn the meeting, motion
carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned 8:30 p.m.
