Committee held a special meeting on Wednesday, December 11, 1991
at the Central Park Building. Chairperson Dixon called the
meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Present: Drilling, Navin,
LeTendre, Reisdorfer.
OLD BUSINESS
J,ifhting for Hockey Rink at Central Park
Chairperson Dixon noted that Rivard Electric has again been
contacted regarding installation of the lights at the hockey
rink, but they appear to be "dragging their feet ". As of this
date they have not started the work. Rivard Electric also has
not given the Park and Recreation Committee a dollar estimate.
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Dixon to still go with Rivard
Electric, but have the Clerk /Administrator forward the bill from
Rivard Electric to the Park and Recreation Committee for approval
prior to payment, Aye - Reisdorfer; Aye - Dixon; Nay - LeTendre;
Nay - Drilling; Nay - Navin, motion failed.
Motion by Drilling, second Reisdorfer to authorize Chairperson
Dixon to contact another contractor and receive a dollar and time
estimate for the installation of the lights for the hockey rink
at Central Park;
- If the estimate is reasonable, Chairperson Dixon is to
contact Rivard Electric notifying them of a time limit,
motion carried unanimously.
Park Dedication Rands
Committee member Drilling mentioned her discussion with members
of the City Council who felt that the Park and Recreation
Committee should have approximately $90,000 of Park Dedication
funds available.
Motion by Drilling, second by LeTendre to direct the
Clerk /Administrator to give to the Park and Recreation Committee
a detailed report of all Park Dedication Funds available;
- detailed by year received;
- and an explanation of how the interest on said funds
were allocated to the Park and Recreation Committee,
motion carried unanimously.
Water Tower Park Equipment
Motion by Drilling, second by Reisdorfer to recommend to the City
Council accept the bid from Earl Anderson Landscape for an
approximate dollar or $12,000 for structures for the first phase
of the park playground equipment;
- Committee member Drilling is to work out payment terms
with the company,
motion carried unanimously.

Park and Recreation Maintenance Charges for the City Public Works
DPDartment
It is felt that since the Park and Recreation Committee does not
have direct control `over these charges, it would be more
appropriate to have these costs removed from the Park and
Recreation Committee budget. The Park and Recreation Committee
would like the Clerk /Administrator to advise as to the steps
necessary to accomplish this.
$katina Hours
Committee member Navin advised the Park and Recreation Committee
that the Centerville Tree Farm would be willing to contribute
$400.00 - $500.00 toward rink attendant salaries so that the
warming house hours could be extended during the Christmas break.
Committee member Navin will follow -up on this.
Future Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Date
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Navin to recommend to the City
Council that the future Park and Recreation Committee meetings be
held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., motion
carried unanimously.
ADJOURN
Motion by Dixon, second by Navin to adjourn the meeting, motion
carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned 8:10 p.m.
