HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-08-29 Special Meeting Minutes Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of Centerville held a special meeting on Thursday, August 29, 1991 at the City Hall. Chairperson Dixon called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present: Drilling, LeTendre, Reisdorfer. Interviews for North Metro Recreation Commission The Park and Recreation Committee interviewed Patricia Turgeon and Michael Navin. The Park and Recreation Committee discussed each individual in order to choose between them. In the discussion it came to light that Mr. Navin may be qualified to become a member of the Park and Recreation Committee. Thus before making a recommendation to the City Council, Chairperson Dixon will contact him and ask if Mr. Navin would be interested in the open Park and Recreation Committee position. If Mr. Navin accepts the position on the Park and Recreation Committee, Ms. Turgeon will be recommended for the position of North Metro Recreation Commission Representative. Meeting Night The Park and Recreation Committee decided to change their meeting to the first Thursday of each month from October until December. At the point the Park and Recreation Committee will review the situation. Playground Equipment The member discussed the various options available. Committee member Drilling will ask a salesperson to attend the next meeting. Nite Golf Tournament Everything is set for the first night. Supplies have all been ordered and members are in process of gathering door prizes from local businesses. Fences Committee member LeTendre obtained the following quotes for additional fencing around the ball fields at Central Park: Foul Line Fences - 8 ft. tall by 250 ft. long $2,325 - 8 ft. tall by 80 ft. long $ 750 6 ft. tall by 250 ft. long $1,860 - Out Field Fence (each) - 8 ft. tall $4,995 - 6 ft. tall $3,970 Committee member Letendre also received a quote for -a fence around the water tower and shed: Six foot fence, 20 feet from the tower and shed with two twelve foot gates $2 nyiezi•,rin;] nor1 1:p3" o•(.JeM �t3 rc�1 ,oi - .+sv 01 t• .. rl Jail i •4 ,.. . r.
