Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting
on Tuesday, March 12, 1991 at the City Hall. Acting Chairperson
LeTendre called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Present:
Downing, Drilling, Reisdorfer. Absent: Dixon.
Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Drilling to approve the February
12, 1991 meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
Park and Recreation Master Plan
The Park and Recreation Committee requests more information
mentioned at January 30, 1991 City Council meeting regarding the
State Outdoor Recreation Grant.
Also mentioned at this meeting was the removing from the Park and
Recreation budget the maintenance monies. The Public Works
Department is to then receive this item into their budget. The
Park and Recreation Committee would like to know why this is
being considered and how much this budget reduction will be for
the 1991 year.
The Park and Recreation Committee would like an update in the
acquisition of Lot 7, Block 1, L'Allier Estates II . Also would
like an idea of the monies to be allocated by the School District
and County to acquire this lot and build a trail system onto the
School's property.
Are still looking into the purchase of a ten (10) acre parcel of
land north of the Center Hill Addition in Centerville.
To develop bike trails we need information on law regarding any
restrictions involved. Are there restriction on the posting of
bike trails?
Committee member Downing will check on restrictions, if any, on a
trail system with class 5 material along the power line easement
with the Northern States Power Company.
The Park and Recreation Committee would like a name given to the
park on Mill Road.
Park Fau&pment at. Water Tower Park
In order to protect the City from liability, the Park and
Recreation Committee would like fencing around the lower section
of the water tower. This may prevent children from scaling up
the tower. Does the City take this responsibility or does the
Park and Recreation Committee? Who will be billed?
Committee member Drilling will look into what the school paid for
playground equipment in order to find the most competitive price
on park equipment.

Committee member Drilling will also work with City Council person
Pelton on landscaping for the parks and trail way easements.
proposed Rink Attendant Personnel Policy
The Park and Recreation Committee would like the responsibility
for personnel policy be taken by the Clerk /Administrator of
Centerville. The Park and Recreation Committee will write the
job descriptions for the rink attendants and work with the
Clerk /Administrator to resolve functional responsibilities.
1991 Budget
The budget will be revised for the April Park and Recreation
Committee meeting.
The Park and Recreation Committee would like to propose $1,000.00
for landscaping.

as Park and Recreation Committee Vice - Chairperson, motion carried
unanimously.
