REGULAR MEETING MINUTEB
TUESDAY AUGUST 17, 1993

Pursuant to due ca'1 and notice thereof, the C2nterville Ecanamic
Qevelopment committee held their regular meeting on Tuesday,
August 17, 1993. Chairperson Rehbine called the meeting to arder
at 7:12 p.m. Present: Hubers, Sanbarn, Tourvi77e, Council
member Brenner. Mayor Buckbee arrived at 7:20 p.m., Committee
member Montain arrived at 7:23 p.m.
APPROVAL OF JULY 27 1993 MINUTES
Motiorr by Hubers, second by Tourville to approve duly 27, 1993
minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
F�OOD PLAIN UPDATE
Council member Brenner expressed that the Foad P1ain project has
been put on hold as far as the Ctty COt1RCi� is concerned but that
was due to culvert installation on Peltier �ake Drive/Mill Road,
creek level toa high and DNR c7earanca. Mayor Buckbee informed
the committee that $30-50 thou�and have been spent on the project
and agreed that the delay has been due to culvert issues on
Peitier Lake Drive and Mill Road. Mayor Buckbee and Council �
member Brenner agreed that to move forward with this project is �
very impartant. Committee member Tourville expressed that '
development has been held up becau.�e the flaoc! plain project has I �
been moving so slow. Committee member Hubers would like the City !
Council to provide an update of the project ta the Economic ��
Deve7apment Committee. �

STAR CITY UPDATE �I
Councii member Brenner stated that the commit�ee now has 11 ��
members, 4 of them new members recruited through City Celebratian
booth. Committee member Montain asked if tt�ere was any wor4c that
could be dane by Ecanamic Development members in relation to the
surveys that were taken at the City Celebration, which were a
great success.
The budget for the Star City project discussed. The amount of
money needed is at least $5,300 which will come f ram an unknown
source st th;s time. There is $2,000 availahle f rom the Cable
T.V. fund is needed. This money is neecled ta praduce 3 f3Ct
book7et, video, etc. All things required by program to become a
Star City. There are also SCORE funds avazlab7e if "recyc�zng"
is mentianed in booklet, video, etc.
Council member Brenner requested g135 f'rom the Economic
Development Committee far two Star City members to �hare ane
registra�ian spat at a weekend �Xarkshop.
Motion by Hubers, second by Mantain to grant Star City memberJ
$135 to attend workshap. Motion carried unanimously.
It is expected that the Star City liaison will report bac<< to the

Econamic Development Committee regarding any new infarmation they
shculd be aware of as a rasult of the wor!<shop.
NEW BUSINESS
Mayor Buckbee informed committes that Matt Geretsch7ager of
Gilbert Construction is interested in Industrial land in
Centerville and that we shauld pravzde him with any information
he may need regarding this matter.
Motion by Hubers, secand by Tourville to adjourn meeting at 9:30
p.m.. Matian carried unanimously.
