This will help us with our shortage of mounded fields for our major baseball program. Moreover, we would also like to move in the outfield fence to a distance of 225 feet per Little League guidelines. Additional fencing from the dugouts to third base and first base would be for spectator safety. We would also like to move the scoreboard and outfield light poles in as well. Centennial Lakes Little League will be responsible for the above items including the costs of the entire grass infield and prep work which we will be using A & L Sod Company for. We recommend that the City of Centerville add more drain the to LaMotte I to ensure better drainage. We also agree to mow the infield grass at LaMotte I and groom and maintain the pitching mound. We would ask the City of Centerville to groom the infields on all three LaMotte fields on a daily basis to maintain the integrity of the new red rock aglime. We have found at our other fields (e.g. Lexington and Cark Eck parks) that proper regular grooming keeps the fields at their maximum efficiency. Centennial Lakes Little League has provided a new drag to the City just a few years ago with the agreement that they would be groomed regularly. If the City agrees to this we would be willing to help pay for the red rock aglime by contributing $3,500.00 payable after our registration (January 15, 2011). We look forward to working with the City of Centerville to make LaMotte Park a family friendly facility for the children in our community. For this Contract, the base bid was simply for mobilization and erosion control. Alternate No. I was for the gun style irrigation system and Alternate No. 2 was for the traditional irrigation system. The intent was to award the base bid plus only one of the alternates. Transmitted herewith is a copy of the Bid Tabulation for your information and file. Copies will also be distributed to each Bidder once the Project has been awarded. There were a total of five Bids, The attached table summarizes the results of the Bids received. On the basis of the Base Bid plus Alternate No. 1 (Gun Style System), the low Bidder on the Project was Albrecht Irrigation with a Total Base Bid Amount plus Alternate I of $52,500. On the basis of the Base Bid plus Alternate 2 (Traditional System), the low bidder on the Project was also Albrecht Irrigation with a Total Base Bid Amount plus Alternate 2 of $128,700. The low bidder did not enclose with the bid a bid bond or other surety as required by the Contract. This may or may not disqualify them from the bid. The City Attorney has been asked to review the situation and can provide more detail to the Council.
