CITY OF GEM LAKE <br />RESOLUTION NO.97-11 <br />21 July 1997 <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has required all cities within the Metropolitan Urban Service Area <br />to update their comprehensive municipal plans on or before 31 December 1998; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has engaged the services of professional planners and engineers for the purpose of <br />carefully preparing a plan consistent with the wishes expressed by the Planning Commission, City Council, <br />and citizens of the community that will guide the Cityin the future; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council have received and considered direct input for <br />consideration of amendments, additions and deletions to the Proposed Comprehensive Municipal Plan from <br />the citizens of Gem Lake via a community wide survey, direct input from citizens and other interested parties <br />via public information meetings and hearings, and direct input from adjacent communities and regulatory <br />bodies by direct written invitation; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council have incorporated and/or made changes to the <br />Proposed Comprehensive Municipal Plan based upon input received during the process deemed to be <br />reasonable and prudent and within the, guidelines established by the citizens of Gem Lake; and <br />WHEREAS, the. Metropolitan Council and it's advisory bodies have reviewed and approved the Proposed. <br />Comprehensive Municipal Plan with conditions and advised the City of Gem Lake in writing that it: may <br />adopt the plan, recognizing conditions presented and without amendment. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that. the City Council of the City of Gem Lake does by this <br />resolution adopt the City of Gem Lake Comprehensive Municipal Plan as approved by the. Metropolitan <br />Council and with recognition of Metropolitan Council conditions publicly expressed to the City; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council . hereby directs the. Planning Commission, City <br />Planner, City Engineer, and other necessary professionals to draft a Watershed Management Plan to be <br />presented for approval by the Metropolitan Council and included in the. Comprehensive Municipal Plan by <br />not later than 31 December 1998; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby directs the Planning Commission and other <br />necessary professionals to evaluate and amend, as necessary, all current city ordinances to reflect the <br />intentions of the plan and to introduce for consideration and adoption new ordinances required by the plan. <br />
