CITY OF GEM LAKE, RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />1 <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />[ SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM: REQUIRING CONNECTIONS TO BE MADE TO THE <br />[,MUNICIPAL SANITARY SYSTEM: ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS AS TO TYPE <br />AND KINDS OF WASTE THAT MAY BE DISPOSED OF IN THE MUNICIPAL <br />SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM: PROHIBITING THE DISCHARGE OF ANY TYPE OR! <br />KIND OF SURFACE WATERS INTO THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER <br />SYSTEM: PRESCRIBING RATES AND CHARGES FOR SEWAGE DISPOSAL <br />SERVICES: PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR AND <br />[SUPERVISION OF ALL CONNECTIONS TO THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER <br />SYSTEM PRESCRIBING CERTAIN MATERIALS AND METHODS TO BE USED; <br />FOR SAID CONNECTIONS: PROVIDING FOR LICENSING OF SEWER <br />1CONTRACTORS: AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE, <br />'PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 64 <br />The City Council of the City of Gem Lake does ordain: <br />Section 1 Repeal Of Other City Ordinances <br />1.1 This Ordinance shall replace Ordinances # 18, 25 and 32A of the City of Gem Lake. <br />Section 2: Separability <br />2.1 It is hereby declared to be the intention Of the City Council that the'several provisions of <br />this Ordinance .are. separable and that ifany court of competent jurisdiction shall.adjudge <br />any provision afthis Ordinance or application thereof to be invalid, such judgment shall <br />not affect any other provisions. of this Ordinance not specifically included in said <br />judgrn.ent. <br />Section 3 Rules And Definitions <br />3.1 Rules of Construction <br />3.1 (1) The word "shall" is mandatory, and the word "may" is permissive. <br />3.1 (2) The masculine gender includes the feminine and neuter genders. <br />3..1 (3) Whenever a. word or term defined. hereinafter appears in the text of this <br />Ordinance, its meaning shall be construed as set forth. in the definition thereof <br />3.1 (4) The present tense includes the past and future tenses and the future the present. <br />3.2 Definitions Of Terms: The following words and terms, whenever they occur in this <br />Ordinance, are defined as follows: <br />1 <br />
