9} Mr Macalus has been notified by certified mail to cease and desist any further storage of Machinery and <br />rubbish/debris: on his.property: He.has.been further advised to. establish sedimentand:erosion controls.until such <br />time as he reestablishes ground cover on his propertyFinally, he has been -notified that failure to comply with <br />this order will result in citation for each.' violation as a misdemeanor with. each day unresolved considered a <br />•separate violation.. <br />10) Mr. Ophelan has been advisedhe must cease and desist operationof his landscape business front his. home <br />on Scheuneman Road adjacentthe south entrance to Hillary Farm and remove: all machinery on orbefore a date <br />specific. Similar to. Much of thecurrent work is future <br />planning whichincludes responses to: and .operational readiness in the face of pandemic scale problems. <br />Following discussion and .inclusion of Mr. Schilling's statement of willingness to serve as Chairman, motion by <br />Bosak, second by Rasmussen to adopt Resolution No. 2006-13 establishing a COMM ittee:to beknown as the Gem Lake <br />Business Development. Commission was unanimously approved. <br />Following discussion regarding the requirementsof the Metropolitan Council to update. the Gem Lake <br />Comprehensive .Municipal Plan on or before 12 September 2008, motion by Watson, second by Bosak ..to approve.. <br />Resolution No. 2006-14 charging the Panning Commission, City Planner. and City Staff to: worktogether to complete. <br />necessary updates to the Gem Lake Comprehensive Municipal Plan at ]east one year ahead of schedule was unanimously <br />approved. <br />Following discussion, .motion . by. Watson, second by Rasmussen to authorize the City Clerk to hire a.summer intern <br />from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute with an attendant stipend .of $2,000 was unanimously approved. Mr.. Schilling <br />offered assistance in the form of work space for the intern who will answer to Mr. Magnuson for his work effort. Mr. <br />Magnuson will work sane out with Mr. Schilling. <br />Motion by Bosak, Second by. Rasmussen to accept the April, 2006 Treasurer's Reportsas prepared by Cobian which <br />indicatebalances in the General Fund of $117,922. l9, in the Sewer Fund of $26,701.31, in the Capital Projects Fund <br />of $0.00,and in. the Gem Lake Bond Debt Service Fund of S71,310.74 were unanimously approved. Payment of bills <br />totaling $57,522.93: was unanimously approved. Mr. Watson asked if a total spent on the current annexation natter has <br />been kept. Mr. Magnuson indicated he would determine the current total andadvise the Council within the next few days. <br />Discussion of the newsletter followed. and Mr. Watson asked for current details prior to mailing same. <br />Mr. Watson suggested opening dialogue with Eugene Newcome about the possibility of securing his property for <br />addition to the City Hall project. <br />The next meeting of the Gem Lake City Council is scheduled for 19 June2006. Public hearings are scheduled before <br />the Planning Commission for Monday, 05 June 2006 for several matters. The Planning.
