CITY OF GEM LAKE RESOLUTION NO. 2008-08 18 MARCH 2008 WHEREAS, the Country Lounge has applied for renewal of their Retail Tobacco Products Resellers License for the period 1/1/08 thru 1/1/09, and, WHEREAS, said applicant has been similarly licensed in prior years in the City of Gem Lake, and WHEREAS, the applicant has operated the establishment without incident during 2007,and WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has enacted legislation, reference Chapter 227IHF117 requiring Iocal units of government to establish or update local ordinances regulating retail tobacco sales and providing for compliance checks, the cost of which shall be borne by the licensee, and WHEREAS, the City has a Tobacco Compliance Ordinance No. 68 which became effective 28 February 1998, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Gem Lake, Ramsey County, Minnesota hereby approves renewal of the Retail Tobacco Products resellers License for the period 01 January 2008 thru 01 January 2009, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City retains the right of revocation at any time in the event of violation of State Laws or City Ordinances regarding the retail sale of tobacco products.
