NEW BUSINESS - A <br />MEMORANDUM <br />Date: December 16, 2008 <br />To: City Council <br />From: Jessie Hart, Treasurer <br />Re: Heritage Hall Building Cost Reconciliation <br />The Heritage Hall project which began in 2007 is now substantially complete. The initial <br />agreement for this project between the City of Gem Lake and White. Bear Township. <br />identified the costs that each of the communities would be responsible for. The <br />Township was responsible for providing a site ready for a building. The City of Gem <br />Lake was ultimately responsible for the design and construction of the actual building. <br />The total project costs, when all is said and done, are $1,300,033.00 of which White <br />Bear Township contributed $401,258.49 (30.87%) and the City of Gem Lake contributed <br />$898,774.51 (69.13%). The attached titled "Heritage Hall Costs" details the costs by <br />each community. <br />Some of the costs that the Township was ultimately responsible for were completed by <br />the general contractor throughout the project. These costs are as follows and were <br />reimbursed to the City of Gem Lake on December 4, 2008: <br />Soils Correction/Remove 1st Septic Tank <br />Remove Additional Foundation. <br />Remove Additional Septic Tank <br />Change Camera Locations <br />Rain Garden Soils Correction <br />Reimbursement for Temporary Heat <br />Civil Engineering Costs (RRTL) <br />Total WBT Reimbursable Costs <br />10,530.00 <br />3,646.00 <br />3.567.00 <br />686.00 <br />3,851.00 <br />1,941.00 <br />1,500.00 <br />$ 25,721.00 <br />In addition to the costs paid by the City of Gem Lake that the Township was responsible. <br />for, the Township also paid for certain costs that Gem Lake was responsible for. These <br />costs are as follows: <br />American Engineering Costs <br />Water Main Oversizing <br />Total Gem Lake Reimbursable Costs <br />$ 2,184.13 <br />5,740.81 <br />$ 7,924.94 <br />While these costs are applicable to the overall project, the cost for the oversizing of the <br />water main are not included in the overall total as this was done in anticipation of <br />supplying water to the area surrounding Heritage Hall at a future date. These costs can <br />be paid from the Sewer Fund and be treated as loan to a future Water Utility Fund. <br />11 <br />
