Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />Page Three <br />Resolution 2009-06/Corporate Mechanical: Mayor Uzpen spoke to the Council <br />about using Corporate Mechanical for 2009. Upon motion by Artig-Swomley and <br />seconded by Lindner, motion passed to accept Corporate Mechanical to be the. <br />Heating and Air Conditioning Servicer for the rest of 2009 and the first month of <br />2010. <br />Claims for July, 2009: The bills for. July were discussed. Councilman Lindner <br />questioned the Metropolitan Service bill. Mayor Uzpen answered the question as <br />to what was repaired and at what cost. Upon motion by Lindner and seconded <br />by Artig-Swomley, the July bills were authorized to be paid. Ayes — 3, Nays — 0. <br />Monthly Financial Reports: The Council was given a financial report packet to <br />look over. Jessie Hart will be amending the city budget for the rest of the year. <br />This amendment should be ready for the August City Council meeting. <br />OPEN ITEMS — CITY COUNCIL <br />Barnett Motors & Tousley Ford: Mayor Uzpen informed the Council that he <br />received letters from the county that Barnett. Motors and Tousley Ford are <br />appealing their assessments for property taxes. Mayor Uzpen will provide more <br />information as it is received. <br />Flag Pole for Heritage Hall: Mayor Uzpen mentioned to the Council that there <br />is money in the budget for a flag pole to be installed on Heritage Hall's property. <br />Mayor Uzpen will follow-up with the Township as to how to proceed. <br />Night to Unite — August 4, 2009: This year the "Night to Unite" falls on the <br />same night as the Planning Commission meeting. The Council volunteered the <br />following: Mayor Uzpen talked to Jean Reiter about having the Ramsey County <br />Sherriff/Police Department there with their K9 dogs. Also the Fire Department is <br />not sure they will be able to attend the event. Councilwoman Artig-Swomley has <br />a budget of $300 to spend on the food and Councilman Watson will provide the <br />grill to cook the food. There will be a sign up sheet for the "Neighbor Watch" and <br />safety items to give away to all that attend this event. Jean Reiter will send out <br />an email reminding the citizens of the event. <br />Comp Plan: Mayor Uzpen updated the Council that SEH is working on the <br />proposal and it should be completed by the August meeting. <br />Look for us on the World Wide Webat gcmlakenin.org <br />
