2) <br />Al] Other Zones. Freestanding signs in the remaining zoning areas <br />of the .City may be erected up to fifty (50) square feet per owner or <br />tenant entrance to a building. Permitted sign area may he <br />aggregated into fewer and larger signs at the election of the <br />property owner, provided that the size of any single sign does not <br />exceed one hundred and fifty (150) square feet. Freestanding signs <br />shallnot exceed thirty-five. (35) feet in height, and signs over <br />fifteen (15) feet in height shall be no closer than seventy-five feet <br />to any other sign. Instructional or directional signs of up to.six (6) <br />square feet in area inay be erected to satisfy a clear instructional or <br />directional purpose without counting against the.. total freestanding <br />signarea allowed :for the property. <br />3) Freestanding signs shall .be set back a minimum of five •feet from <br />theright-o.f-way line. <br />4) No portion of a sign shall be in, or project over, a public right-of- <br />way. <br />5) Signs may beintegrated into the design of a permanent canopy, if <br />one is otherwise allowed on the property, with the sign area on any <br />side of the canopy not exceeding one (1) square foot per lineal foot <br />of the side. <br />c) Window signs. Permanent window signs are permitted in the <br />Neighborhood General, Neighborhood Mixed -Use and Neighborhood <br />Center subzones of the Gateway District. Temporary window signs are <br />permitted in all districts. Permanent window signs shallnot exceed <br />twenty-five percent (25%) of the area of the window on which it is. <br />installed; the total of all permanent and temporary window signs may not <br />exceed fifty percent (10%) of the totalwindow area of any building <br />frontage. <br />d) Illumination; Electronic Message Center and Changeable Copy <br />Signs. Illuminated signs (internal or external) and signs with changeable. <br />copy are not permitted in Residential zoning : areas and the Neighborhood <br />Edge subzone of the Gateway District. In districts where illuminated signs <br />or electronic signs are permitted, the use of lighting, electronic message. <br />center, or dynamic display as an element of a sign is a conditional use. <br />Application for approval of lighting or electronic features shall be made in <br />the mannerof a conditional use permit, using the procedure stated at <br />Section .I 7.5 of the Zoning.
