Gem Lake City Council Meeting. <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />Claims for August: The bills for August were discussed and authorized to pay. <br />Mayor Uzpen explained the residential sewer clean was completed for <br />Scheuneman Road and Hillary Farm. Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner <br />and seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomiey, motion passes. Ayes — 5, <br />Nays -- 0. <br />Monthly Financial Reports: The City Council received and reviewed the <br />handout. <br />Hunting Ordinance #120: A Public hearing is not required for this ordinance. <br />Mayor Uzpen stressed that this is a safety ordinance. The Councilmembers. <br />received an email from the Mayor regarding this ordinance. The wordage of the <br />documentation of the ordinance has been changed. City Attorney Trevor Oliver <br />went through the draft from the August 3, 2010 meeting. Mayor Uzpen had a <br />discussion with the deputies about the ordinance. Gem Lake needs a hunting <br />ordinance to prevent illegal hunting on land and so that authorities can take <br />action. Gem Lake has a majority of small lots and they cannot be hunted on. It <br />was agreed that the City Council would wait until after the September Planning <br />Commission meeting before taking any action. The City Council will schedule a <br />Special City Council meeting on September 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. before the <br />workshop to act on the Hunting Ordinance. <br />OPEN ITEMS FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Tessier Culvert Work: Commissioner Herzog provided a bid to remove trees <br />and asked for approval and approval was given. Commissioner Herzog received <br />the bids for Tessier and Scheuneman Road. Palmen, Inc's bid was $1500 and <br />Schifsky's bid including tree removal was $230.0. Commissioner Herzog <br />recommended Palmen, Inc. for Tessier. The tree bid from Precision was $1000. <br />Permission was given to have Precision cut down the trees on Scheuneman <br />Road_ <br />FUTURE COUNCIL MEETINGS. <br />Workshop Meeting: September 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. <br />City Council Meeting: September 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. <br />Look for uson the World Wide Web at gemlakemn.org <br />
