A few more articles will be on the water <br />testing and the 2010 Budget for Gem Lake. <br />Januarys newsletter will have all the accomplishments in 2009 and reflect on the <br />year with Mayor Uzpen. <br />Surface Water Project Plan: Mayor Uzpen stated that the permit for 2008 was <br />approved and all penalties were forgiven. Justin Gese from SEH will be making <br />a current map for the City of Gem Lake as to where the in-falls/out-falls are <br />located in the City. <br />Water Testing: Councilmember Lindner updated the City Council that he called <br />Ramsey County and requested 30 test kits for the residents to test their water. <br />When testing does occur the residents need to produce their water sample in the <br />morning and drop it off at the city hall for delivery. The cost of the testing is <br />$20.00 per kit, which the City of Gem Lake will cover. The City Council will pick a <br />date for residents to pick up the kits and deliver the samples to City Hall. The <br />date when agreed upon will be in the newsletter. Councilmember Lindner will try <br />to get the kits within the week. <br />Flag Pole: Councilmember Lindner updated the City Council that Washington <br />County has not taken the flagpoles down yet, so project will move forth in the <br />spring of 2010. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Assessment for Scheuneman Road: Mayor Uzpen addressed the City Council <br />about the. Public Hearing for this meeting and had sent to each City Council <br />member that all businesses were sent a letter discussing their portion of the levy. <br />It was decided to open the Public Hearing first as advised by Gem Lake's <br />Attorney Trevor Oliver. <br />PUBLIC HEARING. <br />The public hearing on the assessment for Scheuneman Road — Resolution 2009- <br />20 was opened at 7:22 p.m. to the affected property owners for discussion. No <br />comments were made from the public. Mayor Uzpen closed the public hearing at <br />8:23 p.m. Attorney Trevor Oliver noted for the record that the City Council called <br />the item and no one has delivered any written objections prior to or at the public <br />hearing. Mayor Uzpen asked the City Council if they had any questions. The <br />levy is set up that they will be billed and they have 30 days to pay the levy in full <br />or 2% interest per year over five years. Upon motion by Councilmember Artig- <br />Swomley and seconded by Councilmember Lindner, Resolution 2009-20 passes. <br />Ayes 4, Nays — 0. <br />Look for us on the World Wide Web at gemlakemn.org. <br />
