Gem Lake City Council Meeting
Monthly Financial Report: Mayor Uzpen had the City Council look over the
handouts they received. The 2010 budget will be on the web -site.
Open Items for Council Members: Mayor Uzpen stated that Mike Johnson, the
Code Enforcer for White Bear Township, noticed that the ditch ravine on
Scheuneman Road was being filled in with dirt from the renter on the property
next to it. Mike walked by the bluff and the railroad tracks and the tracks were
covered. It was decided by the Council that this needs to be addressed
immediately and for the resident to understand what the ordinances are and
needs to put an erosion control in place. Attorney Oliver suggested sending out
a cease and existing letter to the tenant of the property. The City Council will
investigate this matter further,
The second item discussed was the conditional use permit allowing Four Season
Auto Repairs and Sales. The permit allows for sale of 20 cars along side and in
the back of the parking lot. The front parking lot was for the auto repair shop.
Mayor Uzpen will look further into this and report to the City Council.
Mayor Uzpen received a certified letter from FEMA. They are asking the City
Council of Gem Lake to do a new flood map. There will also be a need to create
an ordinance and map for flood areas and residents in those areas to get flood
insurance. This project must be finalized by June 2010. Attorney Oliver will
create an ordinance so residents can obtain flood insurance.
Another item on January's agenda will be Administration Traffic Citations, which
will be presented by Attorney Oliver.
FUTURE COUNCIL MEETINGS
Workshop Meeting: January 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.
City Council Meeting: January 19, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.
Look for us on the World Wide Web at gemlakemn.org
